SC TEA PArty Convention - Part 1

Last night my husband and I drove 3 1/2 grueling hours up to Myrtle Beach, SC for the TEA Party convention, that is a prelude to the SC GOP Presidential Debate and the SC GOP Primary. I'm glad we did, because events started early. Later, I will write about the debacle of the hotel rooms and amenities. For now, I'll illuminate you on some of the highlights.

It was great fun today to connect with old friends and meet new ones, who are like minded conservatives. I was amazed at the fervor of many who were former Herman Cain devotees and now stanch Ron Paul lovers Ron Paul's stance on foreign affairs is still a major concern for me. To allow Iran succeed in getting nuclear weapons is irresponsible. Remember back to the FOX debate, when Paul stated "Why not, why shouldn't they have them." Another area, I discussed with a member was Ron Paul's alleged racist publications from 20 years ago. The response, oh, it was 20 years ago, only a few lines and even the head of the NAACP supports him. Hmm, leopards do not change their stripes and bigots rarely have change of hearts without a radical epiphany, and I don't know of any life changing events that have happened in his life to say he has had one. Next, it was not only a few lines, it was in several publicans of which I was able to obtain some copies of the entries. Ron Paul was listed as editor and publisher and considering the type of publication and small circulation, I fail to understand how he could not have known of the passages. As recently as the 1990 to 1996, he did not deny the items, nor dispute their intent. Lastly, just how much do you trust the motivations of the Head of the NAACP? Who would better benefit the rewards of an Obama re-election?

The SC Congressional contingent was fantastic and encouraging in the change that voters were able to effect in the last election cycle. However, sadly, SC could not admit to having as a native son, was the charismatic speaker and Raging Elephants creator, Reverend Apostle Claver. He had the house ROCKIN' with No Compromise and No Surrender, riling the crowd into an enthusiastic true bible belt rally! Unfortunately, the audience was handed a humongous let down with the follow-up speaker, Million or Billionare Michael George of "Stay Strong America". Not only was Mr. George a monotone and droning speaker, where he thought he would get a positive and rousing response from the TEA Party activist, he fell flat on his face.

Mr. George had made the mistake of breaking the taboo of TEA Party activist going into a primary of criticizing some candidates over their preference and imploring the TEA Parties to support and vote for his love child, Newt Gingrich. The purpose of this convention was to create working relationships between the various groups and to offer tools for our upcoming battle to reclaim the Senate and White House. After ripping Mitt Romney and Rick Santorium, he proceeded to preen over Speaker Gingrich. Grumbles rippled through the crowd and some stated to their immediate neighbors that he should get off the stage. Two of my friends openly challenged his motives and positions of Speaker Gingrich versus those of Governor Romney. The crowd began to get more heated and, well, I lite the fuse by loudly filling the room with my sweet dulcet voice, and directing "No one tells the TEA Parties who to vote for, not today not ever. No one tells us what to do!" to Mr. George.

Suddenly the media scramble to our corner of the room and camera flashed. Most of the shots will probably hit the cutting room floor, but the rallying calls that followed my out burst was refreshing and has let everyone know, that although the majority of us are Republicans, we are not servants of, nor the arm of the Republican Party, nor can any candidate truly call themselves a TEA Party Candidate.

Final note, my big mouth didn't end there. Oh no!

OK - I can't keep my Big Mouth Shut - Part 1A - The SC TEA Party Convention did have OWS protestors - The Occupy Protesters were 2 women on the beach, 2 people for "GREEN" (Whatever that means), trying to sneak into the hotel and one of the 99% across the street from the entrance.

Yes, I couldn't resist - poor guy didn't stand a chance (by the way, he disappeared afterwards). Coming back from lunch he stood all alone with his hand written sign "Down With The 1%, I'm With The 99%" I called out to him - "How's that working out for you? You're the 1% standing out here & we're the 99% in there?" Said, I couldn't resist! :O

What Tax Cut Plan????

Get Your Tax Cut Here!

This is the chant of politicians, each aware that they face re-election challenges in 2012. So what do they they do? They sell you a boondoggle of a program.

HR 3630, The Tax Cut Plan which continues the reduction of Social Security deductions from your paycheck from 6.2% to 4.2%. It was never a savings to the tax payer. Indeed it is an added financial burden to future and current homeowners and fails to reimburse the depleted Social Security lock-box.

Let's take a look at this dreamy plan.

Good points? It is designed to save on average to a wage earner, $40.00 per month based upon a $50,000 yearly salary. It maintains the current Medicare Doctor reimbursement and over the Christmas / Hanukkah holidays extends the unemployment benefits.

Now, the downside. It extends the unemployment benefits, and dis-sways potential employees from even seeking temporary employment and encourages more people to enter into Social Security benefits early, to collect welfare, accept medicaid and continue to rely on public and private subsidies, rather than becoming self-reliant tax payers.

Just imagine if you paid into Social Security over your full employment lifetime, say 40 years. It may, for argument sake have equaled $300,000. Now, imagine if you placed that money into a basic savings account earning whatever the current interest rate, as you made the deposits. Your payout just may have equaled, Oh about between $1 Million to $1.5 Million in returns. That amount is far more than what you would receive in payments from Social Security. Those funds would spur the economy. Most importantly, that money would be available to pass down to your heirs. You can't do that with Social Security!

And the Kicker! How are they funding this atrocity? On the backs of homeowners who are 1st time home buyers or those who wish to refinance their high interest or ARM mortgages to a better rate. Yup, the very people Freddie and Fannie Mac abused are once again, to be the victims of Big Government. This goes for homes up to four units, not just single family homes.

Here's the scam. In order to sell the Tax Cut Plan, they have touted the $40 a paycheck savings, which may equate to $1000 per year. In order to fund that relief, they will raise the monthly mortgage fees on FHA mortgages to offset it. So, for every $100, 000 in home value an additional $2,000 per year cost is added to the mortgage. A home valued at $150,000 will see an increase of $3,000 per year and so forth. Therefore, you will get $1,000 per year back into your pocket on your paycheck, but will spend at least $2,000 or more in mortgage fees per year.

Do you think you heard it all? Not yet! If you rent, your rent will go up to make up for the higher mortgage costs. If you are retired or not earning a paycheck, you don't qualify for the Tax Cut, but you do get to pay the additional mortgage costs.

FINALLY, if you do get Tax Cut, it is additional income and TAXABLE. Be prepared to pay higher taxes just to keep more of your money!

Is there an answer? Yes, HR 3630 is a 1200 page monstrosity, which should have never been considered. Instead, HR 3551 is a single page logical plan that tackles a single issue, the Tax Cut in Social Security With-Holdings. It is a simple plan put forth by Rep. Tom McClintock (R-Ca) that offers tax payers the option to take the tax cut or opt out. If an individual chooses to take the tax cut, then for every year they accept the cut, they add an additional month to the time period for Social Security Retirement Age. If you choose the cut for 5 years, then you add 5 months before you can collect Social Security at the current Social Security age. You pay only one month for a year of Tax Cut benefits and do not burden other taxpayers. You self-fund the Tax Cut, not a homeowner who has no skin in the game.

It's simple and logical, which is why Washington will never consider it! Then again, if you make your voice heard, maybe they will. Interesting thought isn't it?

What OWS has gotten wrong!

During the spring of this year, I received emails containing links warning about the Occupy protests. I looked at the links and saw they were crudely built and passed it off to a bunch of fanatic nuts. My mistake was in ignoring the warnings. These are protests created by true anarchists that are not harmless. But just who are they harming? Republicans? Conservatives? Big Business? Wall Street? Bankers? No! They are harming themselves, their President, The Democratic Party, Unions and the tax payers.

Let’s look at the movement’s issues. Oh what, just what are their issues? The 99%? They are against anyone of wealth… Hummm, Michael Moore? Barbara Streisand? Lady GaGa? Pres Obama? Is anyone asking any of these people to empty their bank accounts to feed , cloth and house the poor? No, they are attacking business owners who are providing jobs, that allow individuals to feed, cloth and house themselves and their families. They are squatting on public and private property in violation of numerous laws with impunity because they are the latest darlings of the MSM. They hamper the traffic of hard working average Americas attempting to provide for their families by blocking their ability to get to and from their jobs. They are impeding small businesses in the area of their protests by abusing their toilet facilities, blocking store and office entrances and trashing the local neighborhoods. Just how is this helping the 99%, when they have done everything to ensure that they remain poor?

Is it about jobs? I have seen numerous attempts by various business owners and head hunting firms go into the crowds offering jobs, only to find themselves shouted down and ridiculed. So where is their argument?

Is it about free college education? Just where in the Constitution is it government’s job to educate the populace? I fail to see it. The Federal Government has already overreached in mandating the curriculum of the public school system for Pre-K to Grade 12. Their indoctrination has already lead to the heavy handed dumbing down of the last 2 generations in history! Just where is it written that a college education is mandatory and guaranteed? Already government grants have allowed career college students free lifetime rides in degrees of arts, literature and basket weaving. Today’s students graduate with few marketable skills and wonder why they can’t land a job above mim wage.

Is it against Big Corporate America? I don’t think so, when you see everyone has iPhones, iPads, Designer scarves, sneakers, whatever and swilling those Café Mocha Double Lattes. Instead of berating the Crony Capitalistic deals of the Obama Administration and corrupt Congress, they attack companies that are honest and employing people with good wages and benefits. The same companies that pay the shareholders a decent dividend. The shareholders who are you and I, invested through our savings accounts, retirements funds, insurance policies, mortgages and other financial instruments.

What OWS has gotten wrong is they have no clear message. The unions backed them until they marched on the ports shutting down Union Jobs. The Greenies were with them until they left tons of garbage and human refuse in their wake. The Democrats were with them until they called for the ouster of President Obama, Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi. The only ones still with them is the MSM, simply because they are not the Tea Party people.

The Tea Party has a clear and direct message, which when advanced has affected policy and legislation. There are clear results. Limited Government, Less Taxes and adherence to Constitutional Law. This is what the OWS lacks. You see the Tea Party swarm in for a 2 hour rally and leave, often leaving the area far cleaner then when they arrived. You don’t see anyone arrested for illegal behavior. You don’t hear of assaults, rapes or murders at their gatherings. No one drops trowel and defecates on a cop car. Yet all of these things have happened at the Occupy encampments, along with rampant drug abuse.

OWS has gotten just about everything wrong except for the right to exercise their free speech. Now if they can only harness all of their destructive energy into something constructive and beneficial, maybe the 99% might listen. But I don’t foresee that in the near future.

The main problem is the brainwashing of our children education system, courtesy of the federal government that has instilled this false feeling of entitlement. This is not Generation X or the Millennium Generation, these are the generations of GIVE ME! It’s no longer a “Chicken in every pot”, it’s free phones, free internet, free TV’s, free housing, free clothing, free medical care, free, free, free. Now the government is paying you to stay home and not look for work. Oh that dirty, dirty word! WORK.

They can’t imagine being responsible for their own actions and welfare. The Twinkie defense threw all of that out the window. I stole that car because my parents yelled at me! I killed that innocent person because I never had a pair of designer jeans. I took drugs because the teacher made me study harder. Sorry, those excuses don’t fly with me & that’s why the OWS doesn’t wash either. No one told you to pick up that gun and no one but you decided to pull that trigger. No one told you to buy that crack or cocaine and no one but you made that conscious decision to light that pipe or shove that needle into your arm! No one but you decided to buy that booze, get in that car after you drank that bottle and drive. You made that decision, not that Twinkie!

If you choose to make basket weaving your course major in college, then be prepared to find a job in only that field. Just don’t expect me the tax payer to pay for your education, or should I say lack there of! As for spreading the wealth? If you refuse to work, don’t expect a penny from me. I am willing to give a hand up to any worthy person, but NOT a hand out! If I work 40 hours or more for my wages, I am willing to pay taxes to provide necessary and emergency services in my community. I am not willing to pay for a slacker and leech. Yes leech! There is nothing wrong with working for personal wealth as long as it is honestly earned. The greatest beauty of these United States is that it is the only nation in the work where the poorest amongst us has the potential to become wealthy. We deserve to ability to retain the maximum amount of that wealth and spend or distribute it as we each see fit. You do not have the right to demand that I or anyone else must work for your wealth or benefit against our wishes. That is called slavery, by the way! And don’t say I owe you because you didn’t ask to be born! I have yet met a person who Asked” to be born. We all came into this world the same way, but the miracle that God has given us, called life. We arrived naked and how we leave it is up to each one of us. Do we leave fulfilled with the wealth, love and joy of family and friends or with our hands out still looking for the freebies? I may not have material wealth, but I am glad to say I am blessed with the best wealth there is, that of friends and family. Which will you choose?

What is prompting my latest rant is last week, we hosted a friend and he returned to liberal New York State boasting about his visit. Unfortunately, as in the game telephone, things can gain a new life and this prompted an email from one of my guest's listening audience and my response.

Going through the gallery of members' photos, I couldn't help but notice ... There doesn't seem to be a whole lot of black members. Now, I've been to South Caroilina ... three times. And there are in fact black people living there. No, really! I've seen them! Yet your gatherings ... your web site ... heck, your whole wing-nut gun-toting crowd ... seem to be exclusively white. Is there a reason for that? Just curious...

PS - J tells me that you "can't wait to kick my ass." Oh, really? Because I would love a chance to openly debate you. But as far as "kicking my ass"? ... You may be waiting a looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong time, dear.

PPS - Calling my shot now ... Let's count how many days (minutes, seconds?) it takes you to ban me from your site for expressing an opposing viewpoint. Ever go to an Angry White Man Expr... oh, sorry, a "Tea Party Express" and try to express an opposing viewpoint? Try it some time as an experiment. It'll open your eyes. As for the photo gallery, you will note that the last picture posted was more than 2 years ago. Updating the photo gallery is time consuming and labor intensive, of which I have let slide. However, I do not choose pictures based upon a person's sex or ethnic background. What was sent to me is what was posted. Additionally, since the website is limited on space, I have chosen to allow the gallery to lapse and in time will remove it, since members found other areas of the site more important than that page.

Your 3 vacation visits to our Palmetto State does not equal my 11 years of living here. There are a large number of Conservatives residing here of all ethnic backgrounds, of which the black population is a growing member. Perfect example, Representative Tim Scott. Until recently, Democrats have controlled politics in SC and Georgia and mandated that in order for anything to happened it would have to go through the Democratic cronies in power. Voter intimidation was rampant and local councils cowed local black churches into convincing their congregation to vote Democratic. This has slowly changed over the past 20 years, which is why recently that Black Conservatives have had the courage to come forward. I refer you to:

Next, I will address your "gun-toting" remark. It is obvious you do not believe the 2nd Amendment is a valid right under the Constitution. It has been upheld as lately as 2 years ago in District of Columbia Vs. Heller and McDonald Vs. City of Chicago in the Supreme Court. In fact the defendant in the Chicago case was black, who exercised his 2nd Amendment right in defending his home from a criminal invasion. If we were to repeal the 2nd Amendment then the only people with guns would be the criminals and the police state. That would work well when you find your home invaded by an armed person against whom you have no defense. Try dialing 911 and using that to stop the path of a bullet. By the way, every household in Switzerland has a firearm and this year they overwhelmingly voted to keep them over the threat of the upcoming UN Small Arms Treaty. Remember, if there was a licensed gun owner on the LIRR train on December 7, 1993 when Colin Fergueson walked down the aisle executing 6 innocent passengers and injuring 19 others, a lot fewer people would have died or been injured. By the way, the last time I went to the firing range, the range officer was black and several of the customers were also minorities.

Lastly, as to your comment on the Angry White Man Express in reference to the Tea Party Express, I don't think you can place that label on the following individuals:

Reverend Perryman and the Black Republican Party are suing the DNC and President Obama for racism. Remember, despite the twisted way schools are currently teaching history, it cannot change the facts of which are:

In 1957 the Republicans presented Civil Rights legislation that, then Senator Lyndon Johnson consistently blocked. Later, President Lyndon Johnson at first opposed the legislation, until he realized the powerful voting block that the Democrats could exploit if he passed the bill, thus usurp the claim that the Democrats are the party of Civil Rights. In his book "Daddy King and Me", Judge Murray Silver, stated the Martin Luther King Sr and Jr were both Republicans among other assertions that the majority of Northerners going to the South to fight for Civil Rights were Republicans. In fact, the civil rights leaders could not name one liberal Northerner in the fight. (Judge Silver is a personal friend. He served under Governor Jimmy Carter as a Democrat and was appointed to the Federal Bench under President Jimmy Carter)

Democratic claims of being the party of Civil Rights fly falsely in the face of the fact that the Republican Party was formed originally on the Abolitionist base and was the primary movement for the Civil War and freedom of the slaves. Up until the end of the Civil War the Cherokee Nation continued to hold slaves of both black and white races. To date, no one has demanded reparations, much less an apology. Additionally, many descendents of those slave have the right to declare Cherokee heritage and privileges, of which the Cherokee Nation is still fighting to deny.

Ironically, this was the topic of my show and the very next morning Iran announces it is sending warships to our Eastern Seaboard. Is it the naivete of the Obama administration in dealing with Iran or something far worse? I fervently pray that it is the former and not the latter.

Listen to the caller Paul who follows the progressive and libertarian view that we are to blame and deserved to be attacked because we are in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Libya and Iraq. He is not the lone voice in the woods. That is what scares me the most! Mindsets like Paul's are ones that have assumed the positions of power in the administration and have put our defense at risk. You get involved in your daily life, meetings here, shopping there, this and that..... Life happens. And then your world comes crashing down. The phone rings and everything you hold dear seems about to evaporate. This call happened to me, when my Dad fell, and ended up in the hospital awaiting emergency surgery. Helpless and hundreds of miles and an sea away, you are left sitting by the phone awaiting the doctor's or your family call. Minutes seem like days, days, like months, the wait is heart wrenching.

During the time you are waiting and envisioning the worst you come to realize the small things no longer matter. What matters are those you love and cherish. Maybe we aren't so petty after all, but just need that kick in the pants to remind us! At this time, Dad has had hip replacement and the prognosis is good. With God's will we will enjoy together life and love for a long time coming. Every now and then we each need a good kick in the pants!

Let's share a day in the life of an American. We'll call him Ken.

Ken wakes. His breakfast and medications are safe because some socialist liberal fought to make them so.
Ken walks outside and breathes deeply. The air is clean because some environmentalist wacko demanded laws to stop industrial polluting. He has a job with medical benefits, retirement, holidays, and vacation because of some lazy liberal. If Ken is hurt or loses his job, he'll get worker's compensation or unemployment because some bleeding-heart liberal didn't want him to lose his home because of temporary misfortune.

Ken makes a bank deposit. It is federally insured because some godless liberal wanted to protect Ken's money from unscrupulous bankers. Ken has a student loan because an elitist liberal knew he would benefit if he were educated.

Ken takes the federal interstate to visit his father's farm. It was financed by the Farmers' Home Administration because bankers wouldn't make rural loans. The house didn't have electricity until some latte-drinking liberal fought for rural electrification. Ken's father is retired and has Social Security and Medicare because some quiche-eating liberal fought for them.

At home, Ken listens to his favorite radio host ranting endlessly that liberals are destroying the country. He doesn't mention the reactionaries who fought against every benefit Ken has enjoyed today.

Ken agrees: "These big-government liberals are ruining us. I'm a self-made man. I take care of myself. I will write a letter to the editor bragging about my independence."

This is my reply:

Let's expound on the day in the life of Ken.

Ken wakes in a free Republic to enjoy food provided by Capitalist Farmers and Big Business Corporations which is made more expensive by over taxation and regulation. Food could still be made safe and cheaper of the Liberal Congress gets out of business's way, thus saving Ken thousands of dollars a year

His medications are safe because the pharma companies reinvest their profits and shareholder investments into research and development made affordable through tax credits made by Republicans.

Ken enjoys clean air despite attempts by progressive lobbyists seeking loop holes for their clients. These lobbyists were blocked by Fiscal Conservatives who also relaxed regulations. The regulations being relaxed allowed Ken's employers to increase wages and benefits and lower the cost of their product, thus increasing production and creating new jobs.

He enjoys the fail-safe of workers comp and unemployment insurance because Fiscal Conservatives cut unfunded entitlements as well as pork projects, to ensure funding is secured and the budget is balanced.

Ken enjoys a good return on his bank deposits because Capitalist Bankers seek a good interest rate for their clients and investors, supported by the Republicans who advocate a pro-business environment with less regulations.

However, Ken is burdened with an expensive student loan and stuck in an inferior job which does not match his education level. Unemployment is listed at 9.4%, but in reality is closer to 16% overall and job growth is stagnant. He cannot find a job to match his education level in this economy stifled by a devalued dollar caused by Quantitative Easing and a high deficit.

He visits his father's farm on a road full of pot holes and ruts because the FHA forced a road on a community that could not afford the maintenance on their meager budget.

The utilities his father's farm enjoys is brought to him by a corporation seeking to expand their customer base. They would have arrived sooner had the Democrats & Progressives in Congress not imposed so many road blocks and regulations.

Ken's father enjoys his Social Security benefits because he paid fully into it all of his life. He just wishes Medicare was not mandatory, he can get a better plan from a private insurer. But, if he were to do that, he would lose the Social Security he has paid a lifetime for. Now, he is dependent upon Medicare, that most of his current doctors are dropping after the passage of Obamacare. Worse, his father has not seen a Social Security Cost of Living increase in over 2 years, while Congress and their staff got pay raises and Stimulis Funds paid for bonuses to GE & GM, courtesy of a Democratic Congress and politicians who raided the Social Security "Lock Box".

Ken enjoys his Conservative radio show and knows the host is right, because:

1 - Food would be cheaper and just as safe if government stopped over-regulation and lower taxes on business.

2 - Medication would be available sooner and cheaper if the FDA streamlined approval and allowed generics into the system sooner.

3 - The air is clean because technology has advanced and utility standards have self-policed in advance of and in spite of government over-regulation.

4 - Job benefits and wages are at a record high at Ken's job, because employees have voted to keep unions out.. This allowed the employer to place more wages into the employee programs and lower productions costs. Lower production costs led to increased sales & production, resulting in the creation of new jobs and plant expansion.

5 - If Ken becomes unemployed, he faces the real threat of losing his home, because Obama's HEMP Program does not work. Only 12% of the people who applied have been approved. Conventional mortgage refinance programs are scarce due to the current financial situation and not likely to improve soon.

6 - His bank notified him that the Democratically controlled Congress has decreased the amount insured by the FDIC. His savings are at risk. In addition, the same Congress has enacted Financial Reform which will allow the banks to increase account fees. Free checking will be a thing of the past. Worse, the same Democrats have proposed and are trying to enact a Financial Transaction Legislation that will impose a 1% transaction fee on ANY monetary transaction. This will include deposits, withdrawals, interest earned and ANY purchases, including groceries and gas.

7 - Because the government is desperately seeking revenues, they are agressively seeking repayment of student loans and addressing unpaid taxes. Now Ken finds his wages garnished to satisfy the loans outstanding.

8 - The garnishment of Ken's wages means he can't pay his mortgage and his home is in foreclosure.

9 - The FHA forced a un-needed road on a rural community that is now in disrepair, the local government must float a bond of $5 Million. This will increase the property millage rate by 1%. Ken's father is not too please to learn his farm tax bill will increase by $5,000 per year.

10 - New EPA regulations on utilities, that far exceed industry standards have increased cost productions, forcing the utility to increase rates. Ken's father sees costs of energy to his farm increase by at least $1,000 a month.

11 - Due to overall increase of cost production, supplies and new taxes Ken's father decided to sell the farm at a loss. With the economy's dramatic drop in property value, the sale enables him only to repay the mortgage, with very little profit. He is solely dependent upon his Social Security for his daily living.

12 - Obamacare being enacted, Ken's father sees his monthly Medicare payments almost double, which takes a substantial chunk of his meager Social Security check. Private insurance would be cheaper, but if he purchases the insurance, Social Security will cease all payments. Congress married the two programs and they are mandatory.

13 - Unable to make ends meet anymore, Ken's father moves in with him. Meanwhile, Ken is laid off because the Obama Administration and the NLRB won their case against Boeing, causing the plant to close.

So much for Liberal do-gooding!

New DHS rules cancel deportations - Washington Times

Oh yes! The Obama Administration has activated the DREAM ACT without enacting the necessary legislation. The barn door has not just been left open, it's been ripped off the hinges. The Washington Times today reports:

"The Homeland Security Department said Thursday it will halt deportation proceedings on a case-by-case basis against illegal immigrants who meet certain criteria such as attending school, having family in the military or are primarily responsible for other family members’ care."

DHS was so kind to usher in this new policy, not with a bang, but with a sneaky back door action. They issued letters to members of Congress, who, by the way are in recess. Janet Napolitano wrote to Congress that DHS and the Justice Department will halt all proceedings that do not have a judges ruling. Each deportation is to be reviewed on a case by case basis. Watch out, the next step would be an expedited pathway to citizenship the would leap over legal immigrants patiently awaiting granting of their citizenship.

The Audacity of Arrogance!

For my more than half century alive on this globe, a proud citizen of these United States of America, have I ever spoken derogatorily of a sitting President, until this past year. Listening to President Barak Obama tonight (July 22, 2011) speaking about the failed budget talks raised my already high blood pressure through the roof. First, he created a straw man to blame this crisis upon, then rip the straw man or should I say men down. I think I detected an Irish jig being danced by our Commander-in-Chief on the effigies. The straw men were the Republicans in the House, the Tea Party Caucus, the independent Tea Parties nationwide and Speaker John Boehner. Secondly, he erected Bogeymen, resurrecting the Tea Party and Speaker Boehner to become the intended hated target. Shame on them for wanting to decrease the deficit and prevent our nation from becoming the next Greece. Lastly, he named the victims of these horrible Bogeymen, the military service members and senior citizens Social Security recipients who wont be paid in August. I hear Representative Joe Wilson in the back of my head shouting "You lie!".

What precipitated this massive meltdown? The walking out of Speaker of the House John Boehner from budget negotiations created this episode. President Obama "demanded" an additional $400 Billion in tax increases above and beyond the concessions that the Republicans already offered. Along each step of this process President Obama has "demanded" from the Republicans one concession after another, without providing a written plan which can be graded by the Congressional Budget Office (CBO). In fact, for 2 1/2 years a Democratic held Congress consistently failed to pass any budget. In his letter to fellow Congress members following the breakdown in the talks, Speaker Boehner wrote; "A deal was never reached, and was never really close."

Did Speaker Boehner leave President Obama at the altar? No, President Obama never even entered the church! Arrogance, you ask? Yes, King Obama "ordered" members of Congress to be at the White House at 11am tomorrow! Ordered? Demanded? Last I looked we are a Republic of "equal and separate powers", executive, legislative and judicial. After the temper tantrum of King Obama, Speaker Boehner stepped forward gentlemanly, explaining the differences calmly and said he would be at the White House at 11am tomorrow and continue to work toward a final budget bill.

Mr. President, that was egg Mr. Boehner wiped off of your face. Until you succeed in finalizing the socialization of America, remember that is not a throne behind the desk in the Oval Office. I foresee a long 18 month ahead!

Since 2005 The US Commerce Department has warned of an increase of the import of counterfeit microchips which are used in Military Hardware, including F-15 jets, as well as civilian applications such as power grids and nuclear reactors. The US Military has purchased over 59,000 of these chips.

Many of these chips are cheap knock-offs, while others are "Trojan Horses" programmed to fail intentionally.

If anyone wants to know what a true "Conservative" thinks and feels about pressing domestic issues in today's climate, I recommend reading "STAY MAD! Observations of a Proletarian" by new author David Graham. "STAY MAD!" is a well written and at times humorous book that will have the reader nodding in agreement as he questions policies and agendas furthered by liberals in America.

The "Silent Majority" has found it's voice in the Tea Party Movement and has spurred new authors such as David Graham onto today's political stage. Mr. Graham in a recent interview by Ann Ubelis of the Blog Talk Radio show Southern Sense, admitted that it took the tragedy of the 9/11 terrorist attacks to awaken his interest in current events and patriotism. Like many Americans, he began to follow news broadcasts and talk show hosts on a daily basis. To make sense of the influx of information and to vent on hot issues, he started an internet blog. As the saying goes, "From the tiny acorn goes the mighty oak." , so has David Grahams' blog postings morphed into a thoughtful and factual book. He pokes at everything from political correctness, social and political engineering, education, Black Liberation Theology to the main stream media.

"STAY MAD!" will anger liberals and socialist for sure! Therefore, it will be a must on any conservative's book shelf. This is Mr. Grahams' first book and a few times I looked for a deeper delving into only a few issues. Just maybe he will satisfy my curiosity and he may have the workings of a second book in hand. How about "You Aint Mad Enough Yet? You will be now!" for the next title?

Excuse me Mr. President.... You have not done everything to secure the borders! The border fence is less than complete. Border Patrol is still vastly undermanned and equipped. How do you stop illegal immigrants when agents are armed with bean bag rounds and the illegals have lethal firearms sold to them courtesy of the Bureau of Alcohol, Firearms and Tobacco? Over 3000 firearms sold to gunrunners upon the authorization of the BATF have been used in crimes in the United States against our citizens. These very same firearms were sold under Project Gunrunner and several other project names run by the BATF. That program, whether poorly or criminally run was intended to stem the flow of illegal immigrants and drug dealers into the United States.

So no, Mr. President, our borders are not secure. Rather than pandering to your special interest groups such as La Raza and the Unions, why not visit the ranchers and homeowners who lost family members and friends to the criminal acts of illegals and drug dealers? Do you really want to be face to face with the families and co-workers of the Immigration, Border and BATF Agents killed or injured by these criminals? Are you willing to help pay the tab for enforcement, prosecution and incarceration for these border states? I thought not!

We do thank you for the idea of building a mote and we have here in South Carolina a very hungry breed of American Alligator which would be ideal to stock it with. It just might be cheaper than the fence, less costly to maintain and I know of whole neighborhoods in the South willing to stock it for free.

We need to call, email or FAX members of the US Senate and protest an upcoming bill.

S 679 is titled:

Presidential Appointment Efficiency and Streamlining Act of 2011

This bill removes from the Senate the power to vote their consent for Senior Government Appointments, placing in the Office of the President powers contrary to those accorded in the Constitution. While it is tacit that the process to name and approve these appointments needs to be streamlined, it should not be upon the backs of our rights and freedoms declared in the United States Constitution.

The Constitution's Appointment Clause reads:

"... shall nominate, and by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, shall appoint Ambassadors, other public Ministers and Consuls, Judges of the supreme Court, and all other Officers of the United States, whose Appointments are not herein otherwise provided for, and which shall be established by Law: but the Congress may by Law vest the Appointment of such inferior Officers, as they think proper, in the President alone, in the Courts of Law, or in the Heads of Departments."

The Heritage Foundation wrote in a recent article the following:

"The Senate Should Preserve, But Speed Up, Its Role in Senior Presidential Appointments

When the delegates of the states gathered in Philadelphia in the summer of 1787 and wrote the Constitution, they distributed the powers of the federal government among two Houses of Congress, a President, and a judiciary, and required in many cases that two of them work together to exercise a particular constitutional power. That separation of powers protects the liberties of the American people by preventing any one officer of the government from aggregating too much power.

The Framers of the Constitution did not give the President the kingly power to appoint the senior officers of the government by himself. Instead, they allowed the President to name an individual for a senior office, but then required the President to obtain the Senate's consent before appointing the individual to office. Thus, they required the cooperation of the President and the Senate to put someone in high office.

Many of the Framers had practical experience with government and recognized that not every office would be of sufficient authority and consequence as to merit the attention of both the President and the Senate to an appointment to the office. Therefore, they provided a means by which the Congress by law could decide which of the lesser offices of government could be filled by the President alone, a court, or a department head."

By removing these offices from the Senate consent process, they diminish the power of the Senate and increase the power and role of the Presidency, further reducing the Checks and Balances set up by our Founding Fathers in the Constitution. Furthermore, S 679 does not determine if the offices named in the bill are of "little or no consequence". Rather, it deems that because the Senate is too slow, the sponsors feel that they should streamline the process and bypass the Senate Confirmation process.

Now wouldn't it make more sense that if speeding up the process of appointments, then the Senate shouldn't the Senators review their internal process and look to modify it? Also, the Executive Branch should look internally at their own procedures in an effort to streamline the vetting process which has become over-burdensome and invasive as it travels through the federal bureaucracy before reaching the Senate.

As usual, this legislation uses a sledgehammer to fix a problem, when a Love-Tap is more appropriate. Legislation should not be necessary to "mandate" that the President tell his staff to cut the layers of bureaucracy, communicate with other departments and agencies (You know - Play nice boys!), nor to tailor the vetting process to the needs of the actual job the appointment is being made. The "Working Group"created under the Executive Branch and appointed directly by the President not only is an additional power grab, but another layer of bureaucracy we can ill afford and a relinquishment of powers conferred upon Congress by the Constitution.

** More than 200 positions will be affected - this is a sampling of some of the Appointments to be directly under the Power of the President:

The Agriculture Department's Commodities Credit Board
Agriculture's Rural Utilities Service Administrator
The Chief Scientist of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
The Commerce Department's Assistant Secretary for Communications and Information
The Defense Department's Assistant Secretary for Networks and Information Integration
The Assistant Secretaries of each of the armed services for financial management
The Education Department's Assistant Secretary for Management
Education's Commissioner of Education Statistics
All 7 of the Assistant Secretaries of Energy
The Department of Homeland Security's Director of the Office of Domestic Preparedness
Homeland Security's Assistant Administrator of FEMA for Grant Programs
The Department of the Treasury's Assistant Secretary for Management and Chief Financial Officer
The Treasurer of the United States
Director of the US Mint
The Governors and Alternate Governors of the International Monetary Fund and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (amending Section 3 of the Bretton Woods Agreements Act)
Governor and Alternate Governor of the Asian Development Bank (amending Section 3(a) of the Asian Development Bank Act)
Governor and Alternate Governor of the African Development Fund (amending Section 203(a) of the African Development Fund Act)
Managing Director of the Corporation for National and Community Service
The Office of Management and Budget's Controller, Office of Federal Financial Management
Director of the Community Development Financial Institution Fund

We Lost A Special And Wonderfully Heroic Woman

Tonight, I am crying for a wonderful and heroic woman I never met. I am also crying for my friend who lost her mother and best friend. On my night stand is a music box my mother sent me and my fingers caress it and say a silent prayer relishing the special link a mother and daughter share.

Yesterday afternoon, my friend Naomi lost her mother, Edith Festinger-Litvin. Edith was a survivor and a fighter, so much so, that Naomi wrote a wonderful book about her and her family called "We Never Lost Hope". As survivor of the Holocaust and Nazi slave camps, Naomi traced her mother Edith and her family throughout World War II. In those pages you hear Edith's words and feel her spirit. Throughout, Naomi brings to life her family as they endure the horrors of deprivation and death, bigotry and bureaucracy.

I never met Edith Litvin, yet feel as if I always knew her. I admired her courage, tenacity and gregariousness. Through Naomi and her mother, Edith, I saw that greatness still existed in the places one least expected to find it. It is found within one's own breast.

Edith Festinger-Litvin touched thousands of people throughout her life and she will continue to do so on the pages of Naomi's book.

It was my pleasure to read the book and interview Naomi on my show on March 22, 2011. In honor of Edith, take a few moments to listen. Edith belongs to an era that we do well to never forget, least we repeat the mistakes and horrors. We do well to remember and honor Edith and all who walked her path.

The picture posted at the top of this article was the front page spread. A 3 year old boy held up by his father holding a pistol with his tiny fingers on the trigger.

Curious, I went to the newspaper's web site and the article was taken off the home page, not listed under national, world or political news on the site. After searching under the writers, it wasn't listed under the American writer Ryan Lucas. So I keyed in the co-author Hadeel Al-Shalchi and found it!

I have always been a Conservative. I don't ever remember being anything else. While my 2 brothers and my sister performed antics all over the neighborhood growing up, I was the one who cleaned up the messes and took care of the responsibilities we had in the family. Maybe, that's why I got involved in Blog Talk Radio and created the show Southern Sense.

I am still running around the neighborhood trying to fix the messes, only this time it's the messes we allowed to occur because we didn't speak out enough. In the past I wrote editorials, letters to elected officials, government offices and placed calls. Two years ago, I co-founded the Beaufort Tea Party in South Carolina. It was not enough, so I created this Blog, joined Twitter and Facebook.

Because of the Internet social networks, I started to get my voice heard, figuratively speaking, and met wonderful and new people. Yet, I still felt it wasn't enough. Today, I host, 2 days a week, the Blog Talk Show, Southern Sense as well as remaining active in local affairs, without becoming a politician. On that matter, I promised my Momma, I would clean sewers first, before that happened!

Activism begins at the grass-root level. You have to be passionate about an issue, whether it's adhering to the Constitution or the actions of your local council. From the bottom up, I have found my voice has made some difference. To begin with, the State Legislature wanted to modify the Handicap Parking Permits that hang from your car rear view mirror and place your photo exposed to anyone walking by. I fought them and today, the photo is hidden and upon request of a law enforcement officer, can be shown to prove the person in the car is the actual permit holder and it's not being used fraudulently. My argument was that any criminal can see a handicap permitted car and see an easy prey. They only need to match the person to the photo and lay in wait for their intended victim. I won.

Today, I am battling our local council to create a friendlier business environment that will create jobs, attract business and improve our local economy. You have to start somewhere.

My point is, don't just sit back and trust someone else to take up the battle standard. Step forward and choose your fight carefully, determine what your goal is and what compromises you'll accept. You have to start with what you care the most about and use all of the resources available, be it print media, the Internet or the TV & Radio media. Make your voice count! I have!

When I started Southern Sense on Blog Talk Radio

I had no idea where it would lead me.

A little more than a year previous, along with 4 others, we started the Beaufort Tea Party in Beaufort, South Carolina.

It took off and we supported and encouraged the establishment of the Hilton Head and Bluffton Tea Parties. The result of my activism was happily an invite to the Governor's Mansion for a luncheon on the economy and a Christmas Party. That evolved into an invite to the Inaugural Ball for Nikki Haley. Boy, from a quiet retired citizen to political activist has been an interesting road.

I have made friends with so many people across the board, that to define what a conservative looks like is impossible. I have met Black, Gay, Asian, Jewish and reformed liberals, who are now, conservatives. To only name a few. As we grow as conservatives, more come out of the closet, so to speak.

To say there are no Black Conservatives is to deny the legacy of Fredrick Douglass and those who follow in his legacy. In fact, I found, because of my Blog Talk Radio show, I have attracted an audience of a varied backgroud and ethnic heritage.

I must be doing something "Right"! So Monday, March 7th, I have been invited to be a guest on Perry Steeles's show here on Blog Talk Radio. I look forward to the show and hope you will join us! I look forward to a time we can have an open dialogue to help place this wonderful nation onto a positve path to recovery and prosperity!

     Let me see if I have this right. Many citizens of the United States, along with some politicians in Congress, have access to: Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, unemployment compensation, disaster recovery (hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, etc.), yet they are objecting to a national health care program that will help 32 million uninsured Americans. And why? Because they don't want the government running their lives? Who's selling whom the farm?
     Stop and think about that for a moment. "Ludicrous" comes to my mind. That along with all this political posturing lately gives me a headache. If there are some things wrong with the health care law, then address those specific issues by prioritizing. You can't throw the baby out with the bath water.
     Wake up, America, and tell your elected officials to concentrate on more important things, such as bank bonuses, pork-barrel spending and a "Weeper of the House" who incites vitriol. Besides, I didn't vote for him as president, and he doesn't speak for me.
     Finally, I see a modest recovery under way in spite of all the negativity. President Barack Obama is doing his job and doing it well. The proof is in the pudding.

How Liberals S.I.N. (so says The Herman Cain)
(Switch the subject, Ignore the facts, Name call)

** Take a moment and find in the above editorial how the author in four simple papragraphs manages to S.I.N.

I am always amazed at the ability of the left to ignore and distort facts and in using unrelated subjects to prove a bogus argument. With this in mind, I may be wasting words and time on Mr. Joseph W. James III (Love how they have to quantify their name instead of just signing Joe James), but it just may make a difference to another reader. So here goes.....

Mr. James does have one fact correct, in that he stated that "Many.... have access to:" various public programs. The key word is "access" not mandatory participation. The individual must voluntarily apply and meet certain criteria to be eligible for the services he mentions. No where in the Constitution does Congress, the Executive Branch or the Judicial branch have the authority to mandate all citizens to purchase a service or good as a prerequisite to citizenship or residency. If such a power did exist, then government could mandate that everyone must purchase and wear only pink underwear or some other inane item or service.

The very premise of a mandate is unconstitutional, therefor the entire legislation must be nullified, because each section of it is based upon the mandate to purchase by everyone. With this in mind, the best plan of action is to return to square one, look at the sections of the bill that can work as stand alone programs, such as forgiving pre-existing conditions, portability, etc. and begin to overhaul health care in a logical fashion. Build a sunset clause into these programs, so that if it is found they are unsustainable, impractical or just plan failures they can die out and be replaced with workable programs that are within the framework of the Constitution.

Health care does exist on varying levels for all people (note I did not say citizens) residing within the United States. Federal law mandates that anyone who goes to an hospital emergency room must be treated, they can not be turned away. If the patient is indigent or lack adequate funds, each hospital has a social services department which will assist the individual obtain Medicaid, charitable funding, grants, loans or work out discounted payment plans. They also assist in helping them to obtain follow-up care through community clinics, pro-bono doctors or medical facilities. Medications can be obtained from the the hospital or pharmaceutical companies with their various programs at low or no costs. I downloaded a coupon from http://www.SmartSource.com which offers a 75% discount on ANY medication at ANY pharmacy for ANY person WITHOUT insurance. It is being offered to a local pharmacy (at my own cost of time, ink and paper) so they can use it for someone in dire need. If Mr. Joseph W. James III is so concerned with the uninsured, maybe he'll take the time, ink and paper, to download a few of these coupons and offer them to his local pharmacy to help the uninsured.

I personally have experienced instances where I could not afford certain care. Simply sitting down with the Doctor's staff, I was able to work out programs and payment plans which enable me to receive the full and proper care needed. Many Doctors and Nursing staff when faced with an uninsured patient, based upon the medical and financial situation may offer their care for free.

I will agree with Mr. Joseph W. James III that we need our elected officials to concentrate on more important matters, such as "pork-barrel spending". He can help by going to http://majorityleader.gov/YouCut/ and tell Congress what programs to cut to help balance the budget. However, he mentions bank bonuses without qualifying the statement. This is a free market, capitalistic society, so what is wrong with making a profit or being rewarded for a job well done? Would he deny Andruw Young his $2 million dollar contract with the Yankees or the performance bonus of an additional $1.2 million? Would he deny Spike Lee a portion of the box office receipts on each of his movies or the royalties on the movie rentals or broadcasts? Would he deny Michael Jordon, in his post basketball career, the dividends on his holdings or returns on his properties? If honestly earned and not taxpayer funded, I think not.

The idea of the big bad "Fat Cat" versus the little average Joe is being stretched too far. Wealth, honestly earned is good. It generates jobs, improves standards of living of those it surrounds and promotes a robust economy. Why do others wish to tear that down, unless it is to control and impose their unconstitutional mandates upon us.

As for Mr. James W. James III attack upon Speaker of the House John Boehner, it was undignified. Representative Boehner has not in the past, nor announced a future run for President, so I can see why he didn't vote for him. However, when control of the House of Representatives returns to the Democrats, I do encourage him to contact his elected Representative to voice his choice for a new Speaker of the House. Barring that, maybe if he wants to be able to directly cast a vote for a new Speaker in 2012, he may want to contemplate a run for his district's seat in the next election.

I do respect Mr. Joseph W. James III opinion of the job performance of President Barak Hussain Obama and unlike others in his political party (Such as Bill Mahr, Chris Matthews, Joy Behr, etc) have and will refrain from vitriol. Instead, I will quietly smile and voice my opinion discretely in the voting booth next year.

Is Conservative Talk Dangerous Talk?

Before I begin, yes, I will admit there are extremists on any side of an argument, debate or belief. It is up to us to civilly cancel out their voices and bring to the forefront calm, logical debate that creates answers. That said, it's has been more than a week since the Tuscan, Arizona deadly shooting by an "alleged" deranged gunman named Jared Loughner. Yet today, after definitive proof that he held no conservative or "right-wing" views, nor that he ever listened to conservative talk or news, the left still continues to hammer home the false view of Mr. Loughner's connection to conservative talk.

One of the results of this false rhetoric is that one of the victims has made death threats against a Tea Party leader during the current taping of ABC's "This Week" with Christiane Amanpour. James Eric Fuller, 63, a retired Navy veteran was shot in the back and knee last week that left Congresswoman Gabrielle Gifford (D-AZ) fighting for her life, wounding 14, and killing 6, which included U.S. District Judge John Roll, Gifford's Congressional Aide Gabriel Zimmerman and 9 year old Christina Taylor Green. Mr. Fuller was invited to the ABC event that had Arizona Representative Terri Proud and Tuscan Tea Party leader Trent Humphries discussing the prior week event. Representative Proud was attempting to clarify a statement made on that deadly Saturday about gun control, when Mr. Humphries suggested that they postpone any discussion of gun control until the last of the shooting rampage was laid to rest. It was at this point that Mr. Fuller arose and spoke directly to Mr. Humphries declaring "You're dead!". Security and police immediately moved in to arrest and escort Mr. Fuller out, when he added a final parting shot of "You're all whores!".

Yes, I used the phrase "parting shot". It is not an inflammatory phrase created to incite violence, but a metaphor to create a mental picture with words to describe the heat of the moment. But, do you think this has an iota of meaning to the progressive left, which wants to foist the sins of a Democratic party that created the KKK, segregation and shredding of our Constitutional liberties upon this shoulders of the Conservative movement? I think not.

Point in case, why did ABC invite Mr. Fuller, when he was known to have a temper prone to potentially violent outbursts? Say what? On that deadly Saturday, prior to the shooting, the Naval veteran got into a very heated incident with a Marine, causing Gabrielle Zimmerman, who would later be shot and killed by Loughner, to intervene and separate the two individuals. But, what disturbs me even more, beyond the lack of Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik's duplicitous comments about the incident and shooter or his lack of concern to evidence of the irrational behavior by Loughner beforehand, is the continued lack of public safety by this elected sheriff in the matter of Mr. Fuller. By all news accounts as of the writing of this blog, Mr. Fuller was arrested on Disorderly Conduct and Threat Charges, then escorted to a hospital for a mental evaluation with the hospital deciding as to the release of Mr. Fuller.

What? Release Fuller, where he could pose an equally dangerous threat to public safety? No holding him pending further investigation or charges? Has Sheriff Dupnik learned nothing from the shooting? Where is the outcry from the left concerning the actions of Fuller and his threat to any future Democratic event? Instead, in today's paper there is a McClathy-Tribune editorial by Linda P. Campbell, wherein she writes: "But we need to look beyond debates about what speech is tolerable to what kind of society is tolerable and what any of us can do to achieve it." She further goes on to rail against guns.

So, the answer from the left is "The Tea Baggers are to blame for the violence, therefore we must restrict their free speech and take away their guns." Be afraid, be very, very afraid. They will not be happy until they succeed in crushing the conservative movement, take away your guns, GOD and gut your freedoms. Thankfully, we have started a peaceful momentum that will be the basis to strengthen and repel these attacks to the Constitution. So, "let's Keep On Trucking!"

For many, as well as ourselves and family, the last 2 years have been very hard. Each blessing we received, we have been so grateful for. Our fiends and family have given us so much support and love as they, too have endured hardships.

I know that everyone of you listening know from whence I speak, since you too have felt the pressure of the last 2 years.

Yet, as we've fought and endured the woes of 2009 and 2010, the gestation of new life has been brought forth. The American Silent Majority has found it's voice again and 2012 will be a new frontier. It will be one of optimism.

But, on this day, I ask you to reflect on the true meaning od Christmas. The birth of a child destined to teach us humility, love and compassion. The birth of a Rabbi who gave his life for the redemption and salvation of his fellow man. A man of purpose whose example gave rise to Christianity.

Tomorrow, we celebrate not only the birth of the Christ Child, but the rebirth of humanity. Without HIM, would our Judeo-Christian Nation, these United States of America have been conceived and born? The principles which brought Enlightenment and formed the principles of freedom our founders fought for, were based upon the teachings of Christ and his Judiac beliefs and foundations. The Rabbi Christ gave birth to Christianity and tomorrow we celebrate his birth.

So this weekend, think not only of the gifts, parties and food. Think of who we may have become without this special birth. Think of the light his teachings and strength have lent to the weakest of us and helped us to overcome the worst adversity and tyrants to find freedom.

This weekend,we must take these realities and beliefs forward throughout the rest of the year and spread love, charity and freedom.

Here we are in a season of winter, the time of death and decline, when life withers. This is the pinnacle, the turn of the page, when life returns and hope abounds.

Today and everyday, remember the men and women who voluntarily place their lives forward to protect us everyday. Those, who even though they may not be Christians, still display the very tenets of Judeo-Christian beliefs which built our Nation. Those who freely place their lives on the line of fire daily. Police, Firefighters and those of all of our armed services... Marines, Navy, Army, Air Force and Coast Guard.

In the name of Christ and Christmas, say a prayer and bless them, while we enjoy our comforts, family and freedom. Pray them come home safe and wish them and each other, as I wish each of you and them.....

OH-klahoma, Why You Should Fear Sharia Law

As usual, another liberal judge is legislating from the bench. The people of Oklahoma overwhelmingly passed Question 755 this past November, which is a State Constitutional Amendment that prohibits the courts from using international law or Sharia law in their decisions. The amendment reads as follows:

"This measure amends the State Constitution. It changes a section that deals with the courts of this state. It would amend Article 7, Section 1. It makes courts rely on federal and state law when deciding cases. It forbids courts from considering or using international law. It forbids courts from considering or using Sharia Law.

International law is also known as the law of nations. It deals with the conduct of international organizations and independent nations, such as countries, states and tribes. It deals with their relationship with each other. It also deals with some of their relationships with persons.

The law of nations is formed by the general assent of civilized nations. Sources of international law also include international agreements, as well as treaties.

Sharia Law is Islamic law. It is based on two principal sources, the Koran and the teaching of Mohammed."

There is a great difference between Sharia, Catholic Canon Law, Hebrew Law and Hammurabi's Code. The Catholic and Judaic Laws are specific and written laws involving their own religious courts, judges and penalties. These laws also recognize the authority of a nation's court upon all people within that nation. Sharia is based upon the writings in the Qu'uran and the teachings of the prophet Mohammed, and subject to extremely broad interpretations. Countries under Sharia Law enforce it upon all people of that country irregardless of their religious affiliations. International law is loosely interpreted to include the laws of any other nation, treaties, pacts and agreements between various nations and/or peoples. Courts in the United States refer purely religious law question to among the specific religion involved (i.e. - Catholic or Hasidim). They by Constitution mandate, cite only Federal, State or Local enacted laws and defer religious cases back to the involved religious court.

For example, a divorce may be granted in an American Civil Court to a spouse and legally recognized. The spouse is therefore eligible to remarry under U.S. law. However, under the spouse's specific religion, the divorce may or may not be religiously recognized or granted. The spouse may not be able to remarry within there original religion, but they are eligible to remarry under another accepting religion and/or an American court/justice of the peace. This is true "Separation of Church and State".

Under Sharia Law, the religion IS the state, there is no separation of one from the other. The interpretation of Sharia Law is as vast and varied as the political ideologue of the ultra conservative as compared to that of the progressive liberal. There are no written unified codes and penalties, structured courts or specified procedures to elect/select judges under Sharia. One Iman will declare Jihad is an inner personal journey of peace and redemption. A different Iman will declare Jihad is a bomb laden vest, promise of Heaven with 20 virgins and the death of any Non-Muslims. Each will claim they are enforcing true Sharia.

Citing international law is equally confusing when one judge may rely on the laws of Spain in a case and a differing judge may cite the laws of Cuba to overturn the previous judges decision. Now, if this doesn't convince you that U.S. District Court Judge Vicki Miles-LaGrange made a really bad decision with her injunction, consider, she completely ignores Article VI, Paragraph 2 of the Constitution, the "Supreme Law of the Land" clause. Muneer Anwad and the Council on Islamic-American Relations (CAIR) in their petition cite the First Amendment, "Prohibiting the free exercise" of religion clause. The logic, is that the amendment creates the impression that Islam is a religion that is a threat to the country.

I say, "What?" No where does the amendment prohibit the free exercise of Islam. It does prohibit the enforcement of Islamic Sharia law within the American court system and upon ordinary citizen of non-Islamic faith. Question 755 re-enforces Article VI of the Constitution. It narrowly specifies Sharia Laws and international laws, which progressives have slowly and insidiously been attempting to use to co-opt the American legal system. It is tacit that freedom of religion exists as long as the exercise of that religion does not cause harm or undue hardship to others. Can that be said of all forms of Sharia Law?

It's NEVER Too Late!

Today on my broadcast of Southern Sense on Blog Talk Radio, I had a caller who felt it was "too late" for the Tea Parties and other conservative groups to undue the damage that the progressive left have done to our country and the Constitution. My guest, Charles Early of the Charleston Tea Party, here in South Carolina and I spent long minutes trying to convince her she was wrong. Here is our argument for hope and change in the "right" direction.

Long before Ronald Reagan realized he was a conservative, there was Ayn Rand who gave us John Galt and her powerful conservative values survive in the Ayn Rand Institute. Enter the Heritage Foundation which continues to fight to counter the progressive agenda. Throw into the mixture a "silent majority" who finally found their voices through the Tea Party conservative movement. When poked and prodded enough by the likes of Nancy Pelosi, Barak Obama and Harry Reid the American People will say enough is enough and act to preserve this Republic. We are silent no more!

It took about a century to get to this stage and it may take just as long to bring these United States of America back to a Constitutional government that our founding fathers envisioned. Every journey begins with a first step to begin the momentum. The warnings of Ayn Rand in "Atlas Shrugged" have been heard and the John Galt in all of us has been awoken. We will act to vote and replace those who seek to destroy the Constitution and thus the Republic. We will educate the public and our children as to what this document contains. It is the foundation of this nation, not a living, flexible document. We will teach our children to be moral and responsible and to respect their fellow man. We will hold our elected and government officials accountable for adhering to the Constitution, the Bill of Rights and the welfare of the Republic. Most of all, we will be persistent, outspoken and determined, not relenting to outside pressure, misrepresentation or other tactics that are used against us as they try to cow us into submission. The fight will be handed down to succeeding generations with the understanding we are handing down the Torch of Liberty that our founders entrusted to our care.

It won't be an easy journey. It is long and the pitfalls are many. We must stay true to our beliefs and our souls, for it is the soul of the country we fight for and the liberties our Creator endowed us with. This experiment, this Republic never before existed, nor has it existed elsewhere. Do not let the word "Republic" which, other regimes flaunt in their name' fool you. A true republic only exists when a written constitution works to protect the rights and liberties of the democratically represented people. It is "We the people" at the beginning and "We the people" in the end. It's never too late to preserve this Nation!

Motivate the voters to act by getting to the polling places as well as using all avenues of communication with their elected officials, government regulators and media to get their voices heard.

The beauty of the Tea Party is we do not mandate membership to participate. Our web membership may number in the hundreds or less, but our reach is in the thousands. Grandma on the couch can email her congressman and influence a vote much easier than a picketer outside the White House. We are diverse people and groups, yet we unite in purpose.

We were the Silent Majority and because we were silent, we allowed policies to be implemented that has driven the nation in a direction that is not acceptable. We have rediscovered our voice and will be silent no longer.

OMG! Michelle Obama, Esq. Doesn't Know Her Law?

Give me a break. Michelle Obama was admitted to the Illinois Bar Association in 1989 and worked supporting her husbands electoral campaigns, yet doesn't know she can't campaign in a polling place in the State of Illinois? Just who is she kidding? The Board of Elections posts signs establishing a "Campaign Free Zone". Is it possible this Harvard Educated Attorney and inactive member of the Illinois Bar Association failed to understand the simple three word sign declaring a "Campaign Free Zone"? I find it very hard to believe she is so naive.

We are speaking of an intelligent, educated woman who has stood at her husband side campaigning from the start. She knows the laws and the main stream media is turning a blind eye to her flagrant actions. The Illinois Board of Elections has a pamphlet on Voter Fraud which is explicit about preventing Electioneering in a "Campaign Free Zone". As First Lady of this Nation, she does know better and must be held to a higher standard. Let's see if the Board of Elections in Illinois has the courage to act accordingly.

Despite Everything, There Is Hope In The World

While 8 teenager,s who are members of the "Latin Kings Goonies", brutally attacked, beaten, tortured and sodomized two teenage boys and an adult male in New York City, the world continued to count the days that 33 miners remained trapped in a collapsed mine in Chile.

Rescue workers from across the world, including America, responded to calls for assistance bravely issued by President Sebastian Pinera of Chile. (This is a lesson President Obama should learn following the debacle of the BP spill.) Predicting a rescue by Christmas, these brave men and women worked around the clock and beat the time clock by more than 2 months! Yesterday, the first miner emerged from his entombment to tears, cheers and hugs.

Over the next weeks and months stories of the 70 day ordeal of the miners and rescue workers will be told. Stories of bravery, acts of compassion, hope, faith, heroism and determination will re-enforce our belief in the ultimate goodness of mankind. I will keep this in mind and heart as petty quarrels threatened to blossom into major fights and people forget their humanity and act like idiots.

I still believe in the goodness of mankind and will fight the evil of the few. God Bless these miners, their rescuers and all of their families and friends who stood by them.

Libturd Attacks Tea Party

An anonymous person emailed me several days ago, after my editorial appeared in the Gazette. They wrote: “I will be attending the Tea Party Rally on Sept. 12. I will be looking to see if the Tea Party representatives and speakers will be speaking to solutions to our nations problems and not be apart of the problem. I will not be looking for gripes, complaints, anti-Obama or racial placards.”

My response to QUEBILL@aol.com was: “You are most welcome to join us, however we will not restrict FREE speech. It is not the responsibility of those who are part of the Tea Party movement to create "solutions". It is our responsibility to make our voices heard to elected officials and candidates so they may form solutions. It is our responsibility to seek out individuals who can lead us out of the quagmire both parties lead us into and support them in their efforts.

We do not tolerate racism and will continue to battle it as we did throughout the civil rights movement, which without us would have been even longer in occurring.

In other words, the type of people who populate the Tea Party movement are the same foot soldiers who fought the Revolutionary War, who supported the Abolitionist movement of the Civil War And who stood shoulder to shoulder throughout the Civil Rights era fighting for equality. Ordinary American Patriots fighting extra-ordinary battles, while being publicly derided and mis-represented.

We seek out capable and honest people who support the foundation of this nation, the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. It is our duty and responsibility to find leaders with wisdom, courage and common sense to formulate solutions and implement them. We seek out organizations that espouse the Tea Party principles to help form solutions and support these leaders, such as the CATO Institute and the Heritage Foundation.

Look around you and what do you see? The average Joe. The everyday American. A sleeping giant that was poked into action by irresponsible actions of our government.

This is an open invitation to all elected officials, as well as current and past candidates to attend the 1st Anniversary 9/12 Rally by the Beaufort Tea Party, this Sunday at 1pm at the Waterfront Park. We always encourage you to attend our rallies! In our first rally last year on July 4th, we made the error of allowing politicians to speak and did not give the people a voice. Since then, in the subsequent rallies, we remedied that error and only allow those who speak not be politicians. We have been pleasantly surprised at the words and wisdom of the voters who spoke.

We whole heartily welcome you to attend and listen to what "We The People" have to say. As a “grass-roots” movement, that has united a silent majority into a political force that is slowly changing the face of politics and policy, we encourage you to listen. More Americans Believe Obama is Muslim & Socialist!

What Americans have not seen, nor has been reported, catering to a specific religion’s legal tenets did not start with just the Muslim Religion. As a police officer in NYPD in the Williamsburg and East New York areas of Brooklyn, I witnesses Hasidim Courts taking precedent over our legal system in the 1980′s and 1990′s.

This, I feel had opened the door for Sharia Law gaining a foothold in America. The difference between the two is that Hasdic Laws only affected those of the Jewish Hasidim Orthodox religion. Radical Islam wants Sharia Law to apply to all Americans.

Progressive Judges in Blue States continually ignore the Constitutional Federal and State laws and bend to the creeping Sharia into our legal system and noted in recent news items. Blend into that the knowledge that President Obama was taught in an Islamic School in Indonesia the Islamic faith and Sharia Law. Take into consideration that every time he travels to a Muslim country, he does not bring his wife, which under that faith is prohibited. Remember President Obama bowing to the Saudi King, the defacto leader of the Islamic faithful in that country? Or shall we mention the canceling of the "National Prayer Service Breakfast". but the allowance of the Muslim Prayer Day in the Washington Mall?

His appearances and performance in visiting Mosques and Islamic audiences should be looked at carefully. To put the proverbial “fork” into the matter, take into consideration his flimsy statements pertaining to the planned “Ground Zero” mosque. Would he not have served the American people better if he had stated in his speech, “That although Iman Rauf has the Constitutional right to build his mosque on the congregations property, we ask that he considers the moral right he and his congregation have to honor the American sacred ground of the tragedy of the 9/11 terror attacks, the close to 3000 victims, their family and the voice of the American people. We urge the Iman to enter into talks with the City and State of New York to find an alternative site for the wonderful multi-cultural center.”

The building that is to be the new mosque has never been searched for victims of the 9/11 attacks and was the site where the plan’s landing gear crashed through. It is part of Ground Zero and no one knows how many unclaimed remains are yet to be found inside.

To add to the Muslim leanings of this administration, we must call into consideration the questionable background and associations of Iman Rauf. Several watchdog groups have uncovered areas that warrant further investigation. These watchdog groups urged caution when the State Department hired Iman Rauf to make a 5 Mid-East nation tour. Rauf refuses to denounce Hamas and Hezbollah.
Although President Obama attended Reverend Wrights radical church, he has yet shown where he was Baptized as a Christian.

As for his Socialist beliefs? One only has to read his two books, listen to his numerous lectures and pre-Presidential election speeches. Need I remind anyone of the “Joe the Plumber” encounter of “spreading the wealth”? Add into the pot the numerous appointments to his cabinet, federal agencies and the Supreme Court? Can we say “Van Jones”?

During the Presidential Democratic Primary race between Hillary Clinton and Barak Obama, a certain talk show radio host mounted the “Stop Hillary Train”. At that time, I repeatedly screamed at the radio and wrote to this host’s show, that he didn’t know just what type of Pandora’s Box he was opening. We knew the lesser devil we would get, should Hillary get elected, we then were only to begin to learning the of the potential devil we now have ended up with as President.

Stop The Mosque At Ground Zero!

Although the Imam who wants to build the mosque near ground zero has the Constitutional Right to do so, he has a Moral Right to respect the honor and wishes of the victims and citizens of the United States. He refused to acknowledge that Moral Right.

However, that said, we must understand why they are so insistent on that location. It is the tradition of all Islam to build a mosque directly upon the place of victory and conquest. This is the very reason why we must use any and all methods to prevent it from being built and to take a hard look at any alternative locations offered in the future!

New Talk Radio Show Comes To The Low Country

A new online conservative talk radio premiered in Beaufort on Tuesday, August 10th called “Southern Sense”. Operated by Jani and Ann Ubelis of Lady’s Island, they launched the new site with the intention of giving the Low Country and South Carolina a voice. For their first show they interviewed Judge Murray M. Silver, retired of Hilton Head. Judge Silver was a prominent civil rights attorney in Atlanta and appointed to the bench by President Jimmy Carter. He is the author of the book, “Daddy King and Me” and the online blog, “LegalEagle”. Judge Silver’s book is currently on sale at Bay Street Traders where he will be signing his book on September 12th from 2pm to 4pm along with Lenny McAllister, author of “Diary of a Mad Black P.Y.C. (Proud Young Conservative)”. Both Judge Silver and Lenny McAllister will be guest speakers at the Beaufort Tea Parties September 12th Rally in the Henry C.Chambers Waterfront Park at 1pm. Through online social networking Ann Ubelis has built a following which encouraged her and her husband to start the radio program. She credits this networking for giving her the opportunity to meet people such as Judge Silver and Lenny McAllister. This Tuesday, August 17th, “Southern Sense” will interview both Jane Kenny of the Bluffton Tea Party and Rowena Booker of the South Carolina Black Conservative Movement together. Ms. Ubelis is co-founder of the Beaufort Tea Party and it’s web master, which will make Tuesday’s program fun and interesting. Starting Friday, August 20th “Southern Sense” will initiate “Freaky Friday” where they will take caller and allow people to speak out on the weeks events, opinion pieces and prominent issues. Here's a "Front Page" item that many of the "Main Stream Media" will overlook. Why? Because it deals with Palestinian Militants and a Jewish Hero!

On May 8, 1972 Captain Reginald Levy, a pilot for Belgian Airlines Sabena, woke up. It was his 50th birthday. On that day, he captained a flight from Brussels bound for Tel Aviv, Israel with 90 passengers. Among those passengers on the Boeing 707 were four heavily armed Black September hijackers. Mid-flight they struck.

Also among the passengers was Captain Levy's wife, Dora. May 8th was also their wedding anniversary and they planned to celebrate in Tel Aviv with a special dinner.

The terrorist ordered Captain Levy to land at now Ben Gurion Airport and threatened to blow up the airplane if Israel didn't release over 300 Palestinian prisoners. After talking calmly with the hijackers, Captain Levy was sent to the Israeli authorities with a sample of their explosives to show that they were serious. Among the responding Israeli commandos where Ehud Barak, Israel's current Defense Minister and BeBe Netanyahu, the current Prime Minister. In detail, Captain Levy described to them the number of terrorists, their positions and weaponry.

For 23 hours the Palestinian terrorists held the hostages until the commandos stormed the plane, shooting two of them dead and capturing the remaining two members. No hostages were killed. After the attack, Captain Levy was quoted as saying, "Every one of us is lucky to be alive. I've had some tough times, but this was my toughest."

What an understatement! Reginald Levy, born in England in 1922, trained in Georgia for the Royal Air Force and became a decorated flier in WWII and in the Berlin Airlift. He earned the Distinguished Flying Cross after being shot down in WWII and escaping.

After the hijacking, Captain Levy was targeted by Black September, causing his parents and sister to flee England and eventually settling in Israel. However, Captain Levy and his brave wife remained and he continued to fly until his retirement in 1982. The day before his death, he called to tell ask his daughter to tell Israeli President Perez that he received his personal letter. The next day he suffered the fatal heart attack.

Don't you think he is worthy of our honor and respect? I do!

Senator Barbara Boxer Says She's Just Like A Vet Or Cop! Really?

In the latest act of stupidity, Senator Barbara Boxer compares her own and Maxine Waters accomplishments to that of the brave men and women in the military and those of police officers and fire fighters. PLEASE! REALLY?

In a complete mockery of these tremendously brave persons, she seems to feel sitting on her posterior and doling out political favors is on par with placing one's life in the line of fire, protecting and serving the American people.

This past July 24th in Inglewood, California at a campaign fund raiser, Ms. Boxer stated; "We know when you have veterans in one place where they can befriend each other and talk to each other. You know when you've gone through similar things you need to share it. I don't care if you're a policeman or a fireman or a veteran or by chance a member of congress. Maxine and I can look at each other and roll our eyes. We know what we are up against. And it is hard for people who are not there to understand the pressure and the great things that go along with it and the tough things that go along with it."

Really Ms. Boxer, (and no, you no longer deserve the title of Senator) are your Herculean efforts on par with running into a fire fight against an enemy who wants to destroy your country, your family and anything you hold dear? Does your daily routine cause you to place your body between a criminal or terrorist and the innocent civilian, to take whatever blows, knife jabs and bullets in order to protect and serve the public safety? Do your tireless duties cause you to risk life and limb by running into blazing buildings to rescue not only human victims, but pets as well?

Ms. Boxer, please tell your constituents the one time you risked life and limb to defend or rescue them from harm? Did you ever deliver their babies or rush them to the hospital in a medical emergency? Did you ever spend long hours tirelessly standing duty to prevent the worst horrors from occurring to them? And when they fell victim to some crime, where you there to help pick up the pieces, give comfort and seek out the perpetrators to bring them to justice?

Ms. Boxer, did you ever once, without doing a photo op, bring aid and much needed supplies to the neediest, without receiving a thank you, public acclaim or publishing a press release?

Ms. Boxer, were you ever injured in a career ending line of duty incident, then sent into a bureaucratic maze of impossibility that would delay or deny your proper care and compensation?

Ms. Boxer, did you ever execute your duties according to the laws and your training, only to find yourself on the wrong end of a civil or criminal prosecution, fearing the loss of your financial security, job security or even your very freedom?

Ms.Boxer, did you ever walk out of your comfy home on your way to work and leave your spouse and children to wonder if you will make it home alive or even in one piece at the end of the day, much less months long tour? Did you ever spend months on end under fire in the most God forsaken part of the world unable to call your loved ones and let them know you're still alive?

Well Ms. Boxer, when you have walked in the real shoes of veterans, police officers or fire fighters, then you will earn our respect. Until then, spare us your sanctimonious and pompous statements. From whence do I speak? I speak from experience as a retired, disabled in the line of duty, Police Officer! I stand in awe of our fire fighters and fellow police officers. And, in greater awe of our military men and women, who give up months even years away from home and family to defend us.

Shame on you, Ms. Boxer! It is not by "chance" but choice that you are a member of Congress. Come this November, I pray it is by the choice of your constituents that they will do more than roll their eyes by voting you out and you no longer will be one!

Recently the NAACP has voted for a resolution to denounce the Tea Parties as White Racists and gun toting violent groups. Say WHAT? Did anyone bother to tell the hundreds of thousands of Black Republicans and Conservatives? Did anyone tell the National Black Republicans, AACONS (African-American Conservatives), the Hip Hop Republicans or the Fredrick Douglass Foundation? What about the large number of Black Conservatives running for the Senate and Congress, such as Colonel West or Star Parker?

I doubt sincerely that one single member of the NAACP has ever attended a Tea Party, much less spoke in an equitable dialogue with a Tea Party organizer. Yes, many of us are licensed gun owners, but that does not mean we will ever advocate violence, especially if based upon racial discrimination.

We can turn blue in the face reminding the NAACP that it was the Republican Party that was the party of abolitionists and civil rights. But revisionists will always be deniers and refuse to see the truth. As long as we hold the truth and our beliefs in our hearts and depart it to our children then in time history will vindicate us and villify the destructive elements in our society. Keep your faith strong, Patriots!

Being out of touch for more than a week, then coming back to reality is a real "culture & political" shock. I traveled to my parents Condo where I entered the caveman age! Without TV, radio or the internet you enter a cocoon and feel all is still right with the world. It has taken several days back home to try to catch up and I still think, I'm in the dark. I have learned that in one week....

*The Black Panthers hate white people - Duh, we knew that back in the 1970's when they wanted to & tried to kill white people and cops back then.

*The Federal Government is suing a state over State Sovereignty versus Federal Authority - Bush II did that and won, I only hope that Obama loses & Arizona wins, this time!

*Lebron James wants to change teams - Who Cares! (Same for the World Soccer Cup!)

*The Deepwell Oil is still spilling - Finally Obama suspended the Jones Act over 60 some odd days later! But, the Federal Government has still no real contribution and cohesiveness in the clean-up or repair efforts!

*Dems want to raise taxes - No Kidding

*Congress is still raising the deficit and there is no end in sight - BIG No Kidding!

*In the war on terror, our troops still are not being given the support or full tools to win and progressives still want to talk "time lines"! So what is another dead soldier to them??? Bet not one of them have a family member in the line of fire, so what do they care!

*The Justice Department is failing to prosecute crime equably but will do so rather racially - White man beware!

*Unemployment is not decreasing & Immigration is still amok

On that day over 10,000 men of the USA, England, France, Holland, Australia, Canada and many more nations paid the ultimate price of their life on those beaches and the the invasion of the inlands. I ask you, where was our Commander-in-Chief on this 65th Anniversary?

We as Americans owe a great amount to the brave men and women who fought and gave their all to create and protect our Republic. Never forget those who we ask to serve on the battle front. Today, and everyday, we must remind ourselves of their sacrifice and dedication to our nation, that too few honor. Each and everyone of use must take a few moments, give homage and teach others the value of these gifts.

Our Founding Fathers gathered the everyday citizen to form an army that against all odds beat the British Empire. The Revolutionary War relied upon citizen farmers and intellectuals to form a government and create an army. Ordinary men, and yes some women came forward from some of the most common and most elite backgrounds to form these armies.

Across the New Nation heroic efforts were performed. The most memorable being the deprivation at Valley Forge, with winters so brutal many men went without shoes in the snow. Can we ever repay them?

Few mention those lost to British conscription, or to the Barbary War and the War of 1812. Even fewer mention the vigorous debates in the years that followed concerning the issue of slavery and the Missouri Compromise. Brave men and cowards led us into the Civil War. Greed and altruism filled both sides, but the deprivation and courage of every soldier cannot be forgotten.

Need I remind you of the Spanish American War? The sinking of The Maine? A war famously depicted by Teddy Roosevelt's charge up San Juan Hill, but which few know the full story of men who endured cholera and horrid conditions.

World War I was suppose to be the war to end all wars. It wasn't. Men gave their lives and sanity in trench warfare that seem to last forever. Can you imagine living years in a mud pit with no cell phone or TV?

When we thought we were safe, our government proved to be asleep on the switch and Americans came forward to fight once more in WWII. Then came Korea, Vietnam and Desert Storm. Need I mention 911which has led to Iraqi Freedom and Afghanistan.

We, as a people asked our military men and women to step into the breach:
When liberty was threatened to fight the Revolutionary War,
When our sons where kidnapped in the Barbary Wars,
When our borders where violated in 1812,
When Mexico violated our border and we cried "Remember The Alamo!",
When Spain attempted to reclaim territory in the Spanish American War,
When WWI broke out,
When WWII broke out,
When Korean War erupted,
When Vietnam ripped the fabric of our society, still we asked,
To protect our allies in Desert Storm,
After 911, to unseat Saddam in Iraqi Freedom and fight terrorist in Afghanistan.

What will we ask of them tomorrow?

Military families give up everything, can you do that? Can you stand years separated from loved ones, missing holidays, birthdays and even birth of children. And we get pissed if our spouse misses an anniversary. how much more are they missing? They have given us their all.

Our government fails to give them equipment to help maintain their readiness and combat stance. Yet, we still ask so much and they bravely make do. How many generations of fighting men and women have tolerated our disdain and carelessness? How much longer will we accept the abuse of our most heroic men and women?

Memorial Day is a sacred day. As we enjoy our barbecues and pool parties we need to take a few moments. We need to bend our knees and give thanks to those who gave life and limb for our freedoms. Today, they still fight, today they still sacrifice.

Last week, I was in Physical Therapy and I was brought to tears seeing a young Marine next to me. Too polite to ask, where he was injured, it was obvious he was in Iraq or Afghanistan. From the injuries and burns, I assumed a road side bomb, also known as an IUD. As I did my mundane exercises the gentleman battled to regain control of his battered body. At one point he mentioned to the Physical Therapist an he felt an "annoyance" in his arm. A moment later, with tweezers, she picked a piece of shrapnel out of his wound in his arm that the Military Hospital missed.

What courage! What a Great American! We must not forget these brave heroes, please take a moment, not just today, but everyday to pause, remember and thank them for their service. Whenever you see the American Flag, know it is the fighting men and women who have sacrificed their all to preserve the freedoms it represents and thank them.

As the stock market melts down once again, Congress and our President just don't get the picture. Once again, the Senate creates a legislative nightmare of Finance Reform totaling more than 1700 pages. Haven't these Senators, who feel they are far more superior in intellect than the average voter, learned from the Boondoggle called Health Care Reform? We still don't fully understand what is in that debacle and day by day, we learn more and the picture just aint right! (I know, aint aint a word!)

What makes me really mad, everyone fought hard to put Scott Brown in Ted Kennedy's seat, and now he's turned his back on our voices and voted to bring this monstrosity to the floor. No wonder why Harry Reid is crowing he has the votes to pass this act. Thanks Scott! Keep this up and there will be no second term, we promise you!

We need to step up our game and let our Senators know, we don't want this bill! We want sensible reform that includes Fannie and Freddie Mac. If you want to curb wild swings in the market, you need to look at the automated computer penny traders that are not regulated. Stop the "To Big To Fail" policies. Don't try to legislate and regulate every single transaction in the business world, which includes any agreement I make personally with a company I owe money to and our repayment schedules. Small banks will fail because of the massive regulation that will be imposed. If you thought you have a hard time getting credit now, just wait until this beast hits!

There will be unintended consequences in this bill. If JP Morgan and Goldman Sacks are salivating over this bill, then I for one believe, we better take a long look at it, there is definitely something wrong here!

Tea Party Full Of Anti-This??? or Is it That!

There’s been a recent bombardment of anti-Tea Party editorials, which have contained many misconceptions. Although some of the writers were well meaning, others were dizzyingly foul in their vituperative language. I am always willing to address the well meaning and explain what our Beaufort Tea Party stands for and what we don’t. People, most often, are wonderful and glad of the time and patience taken to help them understand the movement better. For those who choose the latter method of attack, I first, ask them to refrain from the foul language and enter an civil discussion. Often, this is met with an increase of abuse, wherein, I will abort any attempt at logic and walk away. We are a peaceful movement and abhor violence in both speech and action. Over the past year, we have hosted or participated in four rallies and at no time was violence ever an issue, by a Tea Party member. Violence has been perpetrated against Tea Party members and radically under reported in the media.

I have the distinct honor of being one of the five founding members of the Beaufort Tea Party, so I speak with expertise and passion on this issue. Many far right individuals have attempted to control the Tea Party movement with no success. This is a true grass root movement that has no central base of control. Some individual groups, do accept influence from the Republican Party, while the majority of us shun it. Others have slyly adopted the Tea Party moniker, while being loyal to the far left part of the Democratic Party in an attempt to blur and confuse public opinion.

Recently, the South Carolina Republican Party tried to create a Tea Party branch. When word of this action was made known, 22 Tea Party groups joined in protest and forced them to back down. Thus, we made them recognized our individual autonomy. It is the only time that all groups agreed on a single issue and acted in concert.

Although, many of our members are registered Republicans, we also have a healthy contingent of Libertarians and moderate Democrats. A substantial number of members have informed me that they refuse to register with any political party, feeling, and rightly so, that both major political parties have betrayed us. We never ask political affiliation and we get our information only through spontaneous disclosure. Although, there are a few Tea Party groups that have heavy Republican Party influence, people are free to leave them and move onto a neighboring group that refuses party influence. Beaufort Tea Party owes no affiliation to any political party, nor will we endorse any political candidates. The main purpose of our Tea Party is to educate the voters about the candidates and issues and allow them to make up their own minds as to how to vote.

Any person who claims that they are a Tea Party Candidate in South Carolina makes a false claim. Political Parties must be “certified” in order to be recognized. To date, there is no Tea Party currently “certified” and should anyone attempt to do so, they will have to face the ire of more than 20 Tea Party groups.

One recent Letter to the Editor, in the Beaufort Gazette by Raymond Dominick (May 3, 2010) claims that we are “anti-government, anti-tax, anti-abortion, anti-immigrant and pro-gun”. He got one thing right, we are pro-gun. The 2nd Amendment has been upheld by the Supreme Court, which provides the “right to bear arms” to the individual. As a police officer in Brooklyn, NY, I never once saw a legal firearms holder arrested for a crime with a firearm. I did witness and make arrests for crimes with illegal weapons.

The main tenant of true Tea Party groups is the adherence to the Constitution, not the reinterpretation of this founding monument of our nation. Congress has allowed the withering of our unalienable rights by ignoring this document. Therefore, we are not “anti-government” but for a Constitutional government, which respects the separation of powers, as well as a “limited” one. Our nation cannot function without a government. That would be anarchy and the death of this wonderful country.

To say we are “anti-tax” is another falsehood. Government cannot function without a source of revenue, which is provided for in the Constitution. Unreasonable taxes which cause a heavy burden on individuals and business are what we protest. Congress, which has grown hungry with earmarks, in order to garner votes and support a lifetime career have come up with creative ways to impose new taxes which has only added fuel to our current economic crisis. As a former small business owner and manager, I can say, some taxes are just job killers! We seek taxation with responsible representation.
“Anti-abortion” is a loaded phrase. This is a moral issue and one of states rights. It is an issue I struggled with as a young woman as Roe V. Wade was being debated in the 1970’s. There is a point where compassion for the mother under certain circumstances is a priority. However, when the issue is that the child is to be discarded simply because it’s inconvenient, than we will disagree strongly. If you demand the right to end a life, than we should equally be able to demand you be social responsible and prevent the child’s conception and prevent it’s life being an issue. If the termination of an innocent life is or no more than the reason of, “it’s a burden to my social life or budget” than it’s a death sentence to a child who committed no crime. A criminal commits their crime with the full knowledge that if caught they will face the death penalty. That is a free choice, which is something the unborn child is not given.

To say we are “anti-immigrant” is wrong. We oppose illegal immigration and amnesty. The illegal immigrant knowingly commits a crime when they cross the border. Hundreds of thousands of potential immigrants wait silently to enter legally and are being denied because our system is being overloaded. States and local government are forced to carry the burden as they swamp our emergency rooms for free health care, enter our school systems while avoiding paying taxes that support the school district, commit identity theft with stolen social security numbers, fail to pay federal income taxes that support the Medicaid, Welfare and other services they avail themselves of and comprise over 1/3 of our criminal prison population. Our unemployment rate is 9.9% and doesn’t tell the true numbers. This rate does not include those who are self-employed and not working, or those who no longer are eligible for unemployment, and/or have quit looking for work. If we were to expel just 10% of the employed illegal aliens, you would open over 1 Million jobs to unemployed Americans. Just imagine the relief to the State and Federal budget. Oh and yes, there are a few who do pay taxes, but they still have committed a criminal act when they came here and remain. We are for legal immigration, not rewarding someone for committing a criminal act. The hard part is seeing the consequences to the children of these criminals, but what of the consequences to the families of the unemployed Americans and legal immigrants, who lost their jobs to an illegal immigrant or was a victim of their criminal act? Do we, as Americans, now have less rights and freedoms than a criminal?

Why do we not demand countries that have the largest contingent of illegal aliens in our country reform their policies to promote their economic growth and the welfare of their people? Must we be the ATM of the world? We allow other countries to dictate our policies, why don’t we do the same? Balance the scales! We are the land of Lady Liberty & Lady of Blind Justice!

Truly, if you want to understand what the Tea Party is about visit our web sites, attend our rallies and meetings, read the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution over again. You need not listen to FOX News or Sean Hannity. You do need to think independently and with informed facts, while taking the time to understand the arguments fully on both sides before you take your stance and draw that line in the sand. Above all, debate the issues civilly! We are united as Americans, let’s debate these issues and make this a stronger country!

OMG - People Cancel Vacation Plans To Gulf Coast Over Spill!

OMG - For those not savvy means, Oh My GOD! People, fellow Americans, who flocked to Katrina devastation are now canceling their vacation plans to sun bath on cleaner beaches. I am now wondering, just how many are progressives!

Before you flog me, let me tell you a personal story. Back in the early 60's there were two oil spills in the Long Island Sound on the northern shore of Long Island, NY. We had a spot we went to often in the summer months and I learned to swim in the "Sound".

My parents are Republicans and rather than cancel our summer vacation, they chose to still go and teach us a valuable lesson. It was about the stewardship of our country and it's resources.

Rather than splash in the cool waves, we helped rake oil tainted sand. We caught seagulls and other water fowl covered in the smelly tar. Carefully, we helped handle these wild birds, slowly washing the muck from their feathers. The dead fish clean up was the worst.

Yet, as a child, my family and many friends showed up and tirelessly worked, then we all went back to our homes across the country and resumed our lives.

Lesson learned? You need not be a liberal to claim a love for nature. We as "Conservatives" are interested in "Conservation" by our very own nature. So once again, who is canceling their reservations? Hello Al Gore, where are you hiding now???

Thank you President Barak Hussain Obama for your policies and action that have stirred the heart beat of grass root Americans, such as myself. By doing so, you have caused us to rise from our lethargy and pay attention to current events.

Thank you, Mr. President for helping us to find our voices and causing us to join in a wonderful Americana Chorus. Although we are the majority, we had thought our words had no force. Now that we are silent no longer, we know that we have hit a nerve, that you and your cronies find rather uncomfortable.

Thank you, Sir! Without the Tea Party Ideal, I might have not become involved and help to form our Tea Party. Through this growing movement, I have made friends with so many people, that under different circumstances, I may have never had met.

Thank you, because of you and your co-conspirators, I have had the joy of being befriended by a Retired Civil Rights Attorney and Former Judge, by nationally radio syndicated talk show hosts, by nationally syndicated columnists, by my elected representatives,and by Black, Hispanic, Asian and Gay conservatives across the nation. I have had the joy of meeting so many people from so many walks of life and experiences, my head still spins from amazement! What a ride, I am enjoying!

I had never thought that this nation would ever elect someone worse than President Jimmy Carter, so I did not take strong enough action to make myself heard or to motivate others into action. You have shown me the error of my thinking. I will never make that mistake again. In my heart, I know that from among the uprising multitude a new Reagan Conservative will rise and whomever that may be, they will hear our voices and they will listen. Everyday, we will continue to fight to retain our rights and liberties. We will restore our nation to the true republic our founding fathers left in our care.

Medical Insurers are already seeking ways to lure healthy people to offset the mandate of covering previous conditions.
The Insurers are also seeking to hike rates, before they are regulated, so watch your wallets.
Now Doctors are setting to close their practices if they are close to retirement age. Those, who have wealthy clients or are specialist, are already looking to the Caribbean Islands for a 5 to 6 month set up of their practice to offer their people medical care without the burden of Obamacare.
Now throw into the midst, President Calderone of Mexico offering "Medical Tourism" and incentives to lure 5 million retired Americans to Mexico!

So now, as the Mexican National's illegally sneak across the border for illegal employment and government benifits, they will try to lure us "Legally" across the border, knowing we are past child bearing years, to reap our money! What's next? And Thank You Obama for the destruction of America!

"Unleashing Capitalism" is a must read book by Russell S. Sobel. I was enthralled with so concise an outlay of Reagan ideals that have meaning for today's world. Although he speaks extensively about West Virginia, utilizing it's principles would work anywhere in our nation.

In essence, it contains Tea Party principles of:

Limited Government
Free Market Economy
Lower Taxes
Reduction of Business Regulations
Protection of Property Rights
Tort Reform
Elimination of Business Subsidies
Lessening of Business Regulations
School Vouchures
Welfare To Work

I am guilty as the next person of only focusing on a handful of reforms and not looking at the broad picture. We need to all work for all of these items and not allow the Progressives to derail us by blowing up a single issue as the must pass now legislation.

The Census & What The Heck Do We Do????

All my life, I considered myself a law abiding "Conservative Republican" until Glenn Beck had on his show a challenge to take the test to determine your political stance. Lo and Behold, I found I have Libertarian leanings. Which was no wonder, since I have always detested the "Census" questionnaires.

Now, I may make a few enemies, or people, who claim I am a traitor to the cause, but I will beg to differ. So hear me out, please.

The Progressives and Statist are betting on those of us, to NOT fill out the census. Why? They gain power and seats in Congress by their shear numbers. They are hoping and praying, we will resist answering the 10 questions and chase the Census workers off our front porch and NOT be counted.

Who loses? We do! By failing to have our bodies counted, we will lose seats in Congress and thus lose our voice if Candidates we want are not elected. Would you want Pelosi or DeMint? Another Harry Reid or worse FOUR more years of Obama, only because we lost representation in the Congress and Electoral Collage? This is a real possibility, if those of us are NOT counted.

I read the census form and, YES, filled it out. I personally failed to see the need for my phone number, and asked myself, what if someone didn't have a telephone or if it wasn't listed, did it mean you had one? Just saying? What? Would one be in violation of the census law? However, I digress. When it came to ethnicity, I checked other and entered "American" it's only 10 questions, not what others are telling you.

No where did it ask the question of toilets of other invasive things. It did ask about whether I won my home and have a mortgage. It didn't ask my Social Security number or if I have heating. To tell the truth, there are, as I understand it, a few more extensive questionnaires out there, but they are voluntary and not part of the regular census.

So, my answer is fill out the form, get our numbers counted so we out number the Progressives / Liberals / Statis. Lets get seats added to Congress of the Conservative / Libertarian / Independent leaning and get the Obama atrocities repealed!

Why Are Liberals / Progressives / Statist So Violent?

      I grew up in the 1960's, where the riots of the Civil Rights movement filled the nightly news and the Vietnam War filled our every thought. Anti-War demonstrations, sit-ins, love-ins, Woodstock and home grown terrorists like the Weatherman and Black Panthers filled the front pages of the newspapers. My parents were Conservative and supported Civil Rights and Equal Opportunity Laws. Like the Republican Party, they wanted President Johnson to pass the Civil Rights Legislation proposed by the Republican Congress. They took the time to teach, each of my siblings and I, Conservative values. However, for some reason it all fell on deaf ears with one brother.

     Oddly, that one brother, who turned out as a Progressive Liberal, was the one who was most violent. I grew up separating my older brother from one altercation after another. I thought it was just who he was and never equated it to an ideal. Now, almost half a century later, I finally realize it is equated to the political stance. It seems to be something ingrained in the philosophy.

     As a Conservative, I naturally shy away from physical violence. For a great many years, I kept my political voice quiet so not to upset anyone. Today, age and circumstance has loosed my lips and my keyboard. Conservative in action and belief, we have been the "Silent Majority" and often ignored.

    As Conservatives we were silent, which allowed the Liberals / Progressives / Statist to assumed we could be bullied and beaten into submission. The Weatherman used bombs, the Black Panthers, nightsticks at election polling places and now Code Pink tries to arrest Karl Rove at a book signing. Former White House Adviser to President George W. Bush was all class as Code Pink co-founder Jodie Evans attempted to place handcuffs on him. Anti-War protesters attempted to rush the stage, causing him book signing to be canceled.

     Violent protests marred the Global Warming Conference in Copenhagen, the World Conference in Philadelphia and Seattle, Immigration Protests in Los Angeles and now there were attacks on Tea Party Patriots in Searchlight, Nevada. A pie in the face of Ann Coulter at a college speech is not harmless, threats of handcuffs to Karl Rove is not harmless. The violation of our persons, our freedoms and rights by those who wish to control us, is not harmless.

     Mao Tse-Tsung said that Political power comes from the end of a gun. The Progressives / Satists / Liberals are attempting to hold a gun to our heads, while trying to take our guns away. Just how will we respond? Honestly, I hope just as Ann Coulter and Karl Rove have, with dignity, determination and within the law. Let the other side implode and let not us explode.

I watched today, Sunday, to the House of Representative's debate on the Reconciliation of Health Care and the debate on Health Care, at first, with great hope in my heart. I ended with great dismay. Yet, somewhere deep inside me, I still hold out hope, that the United States of America that I know and love, has not yet been destroyed.

Through razzle dazzle moves the House Chairs have ignored Parliamentary Rules and silenced any actions by Republicans to clarify rules or add amendments. The Chair of the House Rules Committee, Louise Slaughter admitted that "technically" the "Slaughter / Deem It" rules violate House Rules. Massive protests, phone campaigns and countless polls have loudly told Congress that the public don't want their bill.

Reform yes, not socialism. Yet, Bart Stupak failed to listen and kowtowed to the "Anointed One" President Obama. Foolishly, he believes that an Executive Order would miraculously cut abortion from the Health Care Takeover. Instead, what Representative Bart Stupak wanted, was an easy out and a return to a "normal family life". Well, Mr. Congressman, if you wanted a normal family life, why did you run for Congress? Mr. Congressman, because of you, millions of unborn children will never have the chance to be born and have a normal family life!

Congressman Stupak, you and Congresswoman Louise Slaughter will have the honor to go down in history as the two pivotal persons, who changed forever the face of America from a Republic to a Socialist State. May I suggest a name change for your children and wife, I sure as heck don't want to be in their shoes as they try to explain why Freedom died in America and who was complicit in it's demise!

What can we do now? We can try to strip out the worst aspects of this monstrosity through legal maneuvering. Follow the Americans for Posterity, Mark Levin's Landmark Legal Foundation and any other web site seeking legal redress. We can't give up, we must keep fighting and stay informed!

Expel Members Of House Who Invoke The "Slaughter Solution"

The Democratic Chair of the House Rules Committee, Representative Louis Slaughter (NY-24) has come up with a power grabbing idea, being dubbed the "Slaughter Solution". Rep. Slaughter, who is joined at the hip to the Democratic Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi (CA-08) has dreamed up a rule for the House to bypass actually voting on the Senate Health Care Bill and passing it into law.

In order to do this, Speaker Pelosi would present to the House the "corrections" for approval of the Senate bill. Therefore, the House will not vote on the actual Senate Bill, but only on the pages presented as corrections and Ms. Pelosi will present the full Senate bill with the House corrections for President Obama's signature.

Does anyone see a problem here? I do, this is in direct violation of the Constitution, which Speaker Pelosi and Representative Slaughter swore to uphold. Article 1, Section 7, Clause 2 requires both houses of Congress to vote on the bill. If there are amendments or changes, the bill is to go to a committee made up of selected members of the Senate and House to reconcile the differences, before going to the President for signature.

I ask you, how can you vote only "corrections", when you haven't even voted on the actual bill? Any Member of the House who agrees to and is complicit in this scheme should be expelled from Congress for Violation of Oath of Office and immediately arrested. In an article on the "Friends of the Article V Convention" web site titled "Violation of Oath of Office and Walker vs Members of Congress" they explain:

"Federal law regulating oath of office by government officials is divided into four parts along with an executive order which further defines the law for purposes of enforcement. 5 U.S.C. 3331, provides the text of the actual oath of office members of Congress are required to take before assuming office. 5 U.S.C. 3333 requires members of Congress sign an affidavit that they have taken the oath of office required by 5 U.S.C. 3331 and have not or will not violate that oath of office during their tenure of office as defined by the third part of the law, 5 U.S.C. 7311 which explicitly makes it a federal criminal offense (and a violation of oath of office) for anyone employed in the United States Government (including members of Congress) to “advocate the overthrow of our constitutional form of government”. The fourth federal law, 18 U.S.C. 1918 provides penalties for violation of oath office described in 5 U.S.C. 7311 which include: (1) removal from office and; (2) confinement or a fine."

Although, I cite the Article V site for the purpose of explaining the law in this blog post, I do not support a Constitutional Convention. I am advocating the upholding of our Constitution and enforcement of this nations laws, equally among all citizens, no matter what office they hold. Should President Obama agree to sign into law the Health Care bill if passed under the Slaughter Solution, he should be impeached and also arrested for Violation of Oath of Office.

When we hold the Members of Congress and The Office of the President to the same standards of the average citizen, we just may have a more honest and open republic!

Obamacare, Part IV - More Insanity So Pass The Aspirin, Please....

I, along with an eager nation today, awaited with baited breath for the One's brilliant and latest Health Care Proposal. Sitting on the edge of my chair, I turned on the television to a news broadcast station that was set to air the Mighty One's speech. Pad in hand, I furiously started to take notes as the mesmerizing words spilled forth from his purple lips.

Oh, how wonderful for all of us, the Anointed One is promising to eliminate denial of coverage for "pre-existing conditions", prevent cancellation of coverage "Should you get sick" and stop co-pays. Hum, interesting. Just how do you offset these costs, I wondered.

Next, such music to my ears as The One, who would bring "Change" to our impoverished nation proclaimed, he would extend Medicaid, offer the uninsured and small businesses the same plans offered to Congress, offer tax credits to help offset the cost of insurance plans and extend the age of coverage of children to 26. Then, I waited for the other shoe to drop!

BOOM! He extends "Public Health Care" through Medicaid, thus placing a heavy burden on the individual state budgets with a mandated program.

BOOM! He increases public sector employment (more government bureaucratic jobs - here's your Jobs Bill), by creating a "Health Care Work Force" under Title V.

BOOM! Under Title III, He makes cuts to Medicare payments to providers and creates a "Panel" to ration your care (Oh yes, The death Panels are back). The "Panels" will be comprised of Medical Personnel, to determine the level of care and services. Doctors will determine your care, yes Doctors, who are employed by the government. Gee, even a Doctor or Nurse can become government bureaucrats.

BOOM! Under Title IV, He'll police your food, weight and private pleasures or activities, if it's detrimental to your health. "The Act relies on the innovation of small businesses and state and local governments to find the best ways to improve wellness in the workplace and in our communities." Beware if you smoke, drink, are over-weight or like to bungee jump. You just might be targeted.

BOOM! Title I, extends the age of your dependent to age 26, you get to pay for your kids, even though they reached adult age and should be self-sufficient.

BOOM! In one fell swoop, President Obama has proposed the violation of the IV Amendment of the Constitution: "to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects...". He also violates the X Amendment: The affirmation of state sovereignty, wherein any power not directly delegated to the Federal government is the sole power of the individual states.

Oh, I'm sure I missed a lot, but this was only with a speed reading of this drivel! President Barak Hussain Obama has proposed another boondoggle of a Health Care Plan. Now, we await the Congressional Budget Offices numbers, over which there will be much debate.

President Obama, I ask you this one simple question: If you are walking over a very rickety bridge, do you stomp your feet and push recklessly forward, or do you take small steps and feel your way cautiously forward. Attempting to bridge the health care gap is a very rickety structure, one that should be done one step at a time. Just what is wrong with only one change at a time, see how it works, then alter, repeal or go forward with each success or failure. What is at stake is not just your political future, it is the economic, physical and mental health of every American citizen and their children for generations to come.

This far too important to get massively wrong the first time.

There have been numerous attempts by the Republican Party in the state of South Carolina to usurp the moniker of “Tea Party”. It wont work.

Many who are people who are “Tea Party” members are members of the Republican Party, however, they have become disillusioned with the party from straying from it’s “Conservative” roots. They miss the policies of Ronald Reagan.

Yet, many forget, Ronald Reagan also wooed many Democrats. Have you forgotten the “Reagan Democrats”? Or forget, Reagan’s famous comment; “ I did not leave the Democratic Party, they left me!”

Those who have attended Tea Parties are Reagan Democrats, Conservatives, Republicans, Independents and Libertarians. They have been of all races and creeds. To those who say we are racists, they are blind and probably would have voted for the “Jim Crow” laws. I know, that is harsh, but few remember, it was the Democratic Party that was the party of the KKK.

We, as Tea Partiera, must challenge those who use the derogatory term “Tea Baggers”. Would any of those persons accept it if we call gay men, “Faggots”, or call other ethnic persons using horrid slurs? Just why are we accepting these disgusting slurs and slanders?

Yet, I digress. As Tea Party People, we must stay independent of any political party. Once we align ourselves or endorse a specific candidate, we become beholden to that political party and their stances. Remaining independent, we can educate the people as to each candidate, their views and just how they stand as a Democrat, Republican, Conservative, Libertarian or Whatever!

Do we become 507’s, PAC or organizations? I still say NO! You only open yourself to financial and personal microscopes! Just a group of friends working together is far better that an organized something or other, where donations sources can be under scrutiny and questioning. If you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to be questioned about.

Finally, just what should the Tea Party People stand for….. Quit simply, One Thing….. The Constitution!

Educate your members, pass out the Constitution and Declaration of Independence and use social networks, such as Facebook, MySpace and Twitter to educate, enforce and promote them! Hold classes locally, online and keep a copy in your pocket or purse.

Knowledge is power! Finally, know your elected officials! Many are on Facebook, Twitter and MySpace. If not, they have emails, faxes and postal addresses, Communicate and do it often.

True Story, a local official actually asked my opinion as to whether to run again, only because I kept in contact and wrote often! Writing, calling and emailing do matter. Don’t stop and don’t let anyone c0-op your voice or vote!

Tea Party People versus Republican Party

And herein lies the rub. The rub of true Americans seeking Constitutional freedom versus the "Progressives" who seek to destroy it. The Tea Party movement started as a sound bite on TV and grew into a national phenom. Soon it will be its'1st birthday and yet, the media can't put their finger on it's true heart. Why, because they fail to understand the hearts of the American people, which was fathered by the "Founding Fathers", the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution.

Now, Blue Dog Democrats and Republican Parties seek to garner the title "Tea Party" as their own. I say, go for it! Before anyone hyperventilates, hold on!

They seek to ride on our "coat-tails". We wear the coat! We control them, not the other way around. They need our support. As long as we stay Independent in our stance, as long as we write, fax, email or call our elected officials and Republican or Democratic Party, we are in control. Don't let the media divide us, don't let any political party control us.

SC State Soveriegnty Reaffirmed & Right To Bear Arms

Long in contention is the creeping abdication of individual and states rights to federal authority. Bit by bit, law makers under the guise of social legislation have trampled on the Constitution of the United States. Nowhere it that theft more evident as in both the Senate's and House's versions of the proposed health care bills, in blatant violation of the 9th and 10th Amendments. Additionally, Health and Human Services have declared firearms a "health hazard" as well as a House Bill, HR 45, which seeks to deny your 2nd Amendment right to bear arms.

Across the nation, 13 states have taken steps to reaffirm the 10th Amendment. Proudly, South Carolina is one step closer. The State Senate passed SB 424, which originally only reaffirmed the 9th and 10th Amendments, specifically declaring us free of federally mandated health care. In a last minute amendment to the bill, Senator Brad Hutto added amendment #47, which references the 2nd Amendment, Right To Bear Arms. However, Senator Larry Grooms stated that he fears the wording may be too broad and fails to adequately protect the private citizen. Senator Grooms is currently consulting the attorneys at the National Rifle Association. The NRA may suggest better wording.

For now, the bill heads over to the House. If the House accepts it as is, it will pass and become law. Should they seek changes it will go to a joint session for negotiations. Below is a Press Release issued today:

Where Do We Go From Here? 10 Points!

The tide of change has hit America, but it is not what President Obama or the Liberal Congress members had expected. Progressive and Socialistic legislation have ignited a backlash of American public opinion, which has caught them unaware. Or has it?

When under President Bush, amnesty for illegal immigrants was foisted upon the voters and they resoundingly said no. Under President Clinton health care reform fell flat on its' face after the people said no. Under President Reagan that Air Traffic Controllers Union was broken and it made our skies safer, yet President Obama wants to place a nominee in a position that wants to unionize the Transportation Safety workers. We can go on with grievances, but what we must focus on is how to prevent or stop them.

That is just what ordinary and everyday American citizens are doing today. Previously silent people, who skipped voting in elections, who shucked the newspaper aside, only using it to line the bird cage or cat box or wrap that special item in a packing box, or switched from the news to watch American Idol are speaking out. People are angry over uncapped spending and threats of further taxes and spending. They are angry over the violation of their Constitutional and Civil rights by a Congress who feel they are far superior to the mere citizen. A Congress who they believe understand nothing about the legislation they debate.

There is no greater fool than one who feels they are smarter than all of the rest. You may quote me on that! The great populace of this wonderful Nation contains a vast and superior repository of expertise and knowledge. Knowledge and expertise that Congress and our President would do well to heed. With the advent of the internet and 24 hours cable / satellite news, now, even the stay at home Mom knows more about the Money Market Funds or the Iran Uprisings than apparently many members of Congress.

So, what do we do to get our voices heard? With the falling like flies of the recent members of Congress from seeking re-election, I'd say, we are on the right path! Here are my suggestions, please feel free to add to them:

1 - Continue to host Tea Party Rallies - Don't let them think we gave up or have lost strength. Mass rallies play well on You Tube, Facebook and TV.

2 - Continue to picket the offices of your elected officials who refuse to hear your petitions. Choose select days and times when it would make the most impact. Sitting out there everyday only will make you look like a kook in the eyes of the news and public opinion.

3 - Don't stop Calling, Faxing, E-mailing your elected officials. I found written letters, posted through the US mail will get responses. Faxes are next best and E-mails get standard replies. Phone calls disturb and will get you a real person in many cases, if you are persistent.

4 - Register to VOTE, which I am sure you are already. However, encourage friends and family to register. If you have the time, energy and commitment join a political party and be active. Here you can make a tremendous influence.

5 - Write to your local newspapers editorials. Voice your opinion, get your view out there!

6 - Read, Read, Read..... Not just the news, but learn by reading books put out by all sides of the argument. If you are ready to debate a subject, know it! Listen to the other side's talk shows, hear what they are saying and form your reply with knowledge. Strength comes from knowledge!

7 - Never argue with an idiot. There will be those who refuse to fight fair in an honest debate. No matter what you say or do, they will be belligerent and impossible to exchange with. Know when to break away and find a better forum.

8 - Always be CIVIL! Never let anyone get to your last nerve.

9 - Don't Preach! - No one likes a person who pushes their beliefs upon another. Best way to win someone over is by actions, they speak better than words.

10 - Network - Reach out to those who are of like mind. Networking expands your reach and opens new avenues as well as avenues. You never know what opportunity will appear around the next corner.

This past year has been a hard year for our family and friends. With the drop in the housing market our income has taken a big hit. Friends have lost work, job opportunities for family have dried up and dreams for a better future put on hold. To add to the pile, health concerns have hit many of us hard, reminding us of our mortality.

Yet throughout all of our individual trials and tribulations, each of us had the knowledge and security of the love and friendship of family and friends dear to us. Their strength and encouragement carried us through these times. So, as this Christmas Holiday comes upon us, we have thought hard the best way to repay each and everyone back for their love and support.

It is easy to walk into a store, pluck your money down and walk out with a purchase which just may or may not be the perfect gift. How easy to open a catalogue, place an order and never have to leave the comfort of your couch. But, this year is different. This year requires something different. It requires a gift that gives as well as honors the recipient.

This Christmas, we are making donations to a couple of worthy charities in honor of our family and friends. We have chosen the Wounded Warrior Project and St. Jude’s Children Hospital. They were chosen from a long list of worthy charities, and they are many. Some, we had already donated to during the year. How easy to give a wrapped gift and not care if they place it in a closet or re-gift it. Your duty was done. But to say to someone you love and care about, “You gave me a gift of yourself, now I am passing that along to others who need that very precious gift, as well. Thank you!”

What better gift than to pass on the love and friendship you have received onto others! What better way to say, Merry Christmas, and Happy Hanukkah.

Razzle Dazzle Legislation & B.S.

Why is it that I feel we are having a razzle dazzle job done on us as the voting public? Daily we are assaulted with none stop news alerts declaring the latest on the Health Care Bills in both the Senate and House, Cap and Trade Bill, ACORN appropriation and scandal, Card Check, Military appropriations, Unemployment extensions and so on and so on. My head is spinning and that is the point!

Anyone who ever went to a town carnival or walked down New York City 42nd Street would be dazzled by the non-stop con artists who would cause you to look left when they used their right hand to pick your pocket. Only, today, you needn’t leave the now comfortable chair in your living room to have your pocket picked. We are being fleeced by our elected officials in Congress and the White House as they distract us with glossy speeches as they raise the national debt, to use President Obama’s favorite word, to an “unsustainable” level.

As our country nears bankruptcy, Congress pushes for a Health Care Bill that the national debt can not support, nor the individual citizen can afford. Fortunately, some Congressional members are now asking, just what is our national priority, paying for the military and their actions across the globe or a pie in the sky 2000 page unpopular Health Care Bill?

Today, Hollywood celebrities jet off to Copenhagen to support a Climate Change International Pact, while disregarding their selfish carbon footprint. Former Vice President Al Gore sells himself for a mere $1209 per person to guests at the Copenhagen Global Climate event. Meanwhile, Climategate breaks out as the European Union and Australia go conservative and elect anti-Global Warming alarmist to the conference. But, TV commercials still tout the progressives call to personal responsibility in preventing further global warming. Even GOOGLE’s web search engine turns left and makes it harder to search using the words global warming. Hum, conspiracy?

Other, international treaties being pushed by the United Nations attempt to not only demand our compliance in a socialist global agenda, but also try to force us to relinquish our 2nd amendment rights to gun ownership and parental control of our own children in our own homes. And the razzle dazzle goes on!

I can’t scratch the surface of the dazzling political dancing being done to confuse and blind us to what is being slide past us. We must catch on fast to put the brakes on the dizzying dances.

Boo Boo Bear Makes It Better

As usual it's always a SNAFU!  I needed knee replacement surgery and delayed it for at least two years.  The deterioration of the cartilage in the joint had accelerated and could no longer be ignored. Thankfully, the knee replacement went very smoothly.  The debacle started up just afterward.  Resting comfortable in my hospital room, two friends, who just got married the day before, popped in for a visit. (They changed to an earlier wedding date, just so I could attend!  How wonderfully sweet!) This blissful couple came by and brought a wonderfully large box of chocolates, sat and chatted.

All of the sudden, out of the blue, I turned REAL GREEN and HURLED! All of the liquid diet forced upon me had decided I didn't need the nutritional intake.  If I hadn't hit the puke bucket, I probably have hit the opposite wall over 6 feet away.  My girlfriend, Bliss ran out of the room for a nurse and the newlywed husband, poor Bruce held the bucket and tried to keep his eyes away from the gross green sludge filling the tiny bucket.  All the while he stoked my hair and cooed words of comfort.  I felt worse for his situation than I physically felt ill over mine!  Bless both their hearts!  Needless to say their visit was cut very short.

So the medical staff rushes in, put me on anti-nausea meds and continued the liquid diet.  Lo and Behold, I do the same thing the next day, this time with the nurse and her assistant in the room.  And they are scratching their heads  as to why my stomach felt better turned inside out than right side in.  All I could say, it was one heck of a way to lose the extra pounds!

Now, I get a sharp pain in the calf of the surgery leg.  They scramble to do an ultra sound, looking for a possible blood clot.  No clot, that's good.  Gee Wiz, I wanted an excuse to get out of the room for a change of scenery, anyway!  Uh, can you push me one more time around the block for a lark?

Just when you'd think, it would start to go smoothly, I get severe leg cramps.  They run a blood test that showed my potassium, magnesium and iron was desperately low, causing an irregular heart rate.  The cramps were so severe, I was SCREAMING in pain, something I do not do!  My leg felt like it was solid granite from my hip to my foot.  They gave me the potassium and magnesium in pill form and an IV for the IRON.  They also included Ativan for anxiety and they claim, to relax the muscles.  It took close to 6 hours before the pain level became bearable.  It was the worst pain I have EVER felt.  When my appendix burst, shoulder or foot broke, none ever hurt this bad! TRUE STORY!

The second I saw the IV bag for the iron, I immediately questioned whether I would have an allergic reaction.  The solution was red and I am highly allergic to iodine, beta-dine and red dye.  A short time later, of course, I broke out in hives and my IV bag of iron had to be removed.  A new IV had to be reinserted in the opposite arm with the iron supplement discontinued.

Now, I develop a fever, with no explanations.  They send me for a chest X Ray to look for pneumonia.  No Pneumonia.  They wake me up every 1/2 to 1 hour to take my temp and blood pressure.

Because of the torn rotator cuffs in both of my shoulders, it's real difficult trying to use the walker, but, I am getting better at it. I've managed to step on each of my five cat's tails or paws.  When a larger immobile object meets a much smaller quicker object, what do you think would happen?

M E O R W!!!!  S C H R E I C H!!!!!!!!!!

Last night was a horror with the aches and nausea.  They added in a new medication into the new IV, which blew the new IV.  Quess what, run another newer new, new IV.  They gave me the newest meds in the newest new, new one.  And what do you think they did? (Maybe we can set this to the tune, "The Bear Came Over The Mountain..") They blew the newest, new, new IV.  The Nurse, "Gerald" had to rerun the IV again, because of the swelling and reaction around the site.  He, too blew a vein he was working on and tried for 45 mins to find a clean new vein.  Frustrated, he called in the hospital top gun, a Nurse from Recovery.

She was so sweet and worked for 1 1/2 hours looking for a vein, yet, even she
blew one vein, until she was finally able to find a usable vein at the side of my wrist.  The only reason I needed to keep an IV, was because they kept me on the
heart monitor.  All of the meds they had me on up to that then could have been given orally.

The funniest part of all of this?  I was honest with the surgeon on how much I like to drink at happy hour.  But, I told him, I don't always do it every night.  A week before surgery I always stop so it doesn't interfere with the meds.  The Surgeon insisted I bring a bottle of scotch with me and prescribed a shot each night.  The first night, I drank 1/2 of a drink and threw the rest out.   The bottle was stored under lock and key at the nurses station.  Two nights later, I had the second drink and the bottle again went immediately back to the nurses station.  Believe it or not, it has it's own prescription label with my name on it.  So why don't they just open a cocktail lounge at the hospital?  Be more fun than sucking one down alone in your room!  Maybe a piano bar?  Karaoke?

They discharged me on Friday and Jani lugged all of my stuff down to the car.  I
got in and we headed home.  Going about 2 miles,  I remember the bottle of scotch.  I make Jani turn back and retrieve it.  Hey, it's alcohol abuse to throw it out!  Well, I know I only had 2 ounces, but looking at the bottle, someone else enjoyed quite a few slugs!!  TOO FUNNY!!!  Hey, I would have welcomed a drinking buddy!

Well, I'm home safe and sound.  Jani is still trying to get everything fixed so
I can move round easily. First thing I'll be doing, is catching up on
 sleep..... Without someone taking blood, reading my temp or shoving who knows what who knows where!!!!!!!!!!!

Edie sent me the most beautiful flowers, Bliss and Bruce the most delicious chocolate and BJ's Boo Boo Bear kept me company!  Marci babysat me, so Jani could run to the store and Barbara gave me a wheelchair, for when I need to get out of the house for an extended period of time. I can't thank everyone enough for the warm wishes and prayers.

I am truly blessed!

PS - The physical therapist that comes to the house is a GRECIAN GOD!  Ah, Jani, I think I hear a pack of cigerettes calling your name at the store down the road.......

Where Is The Sanity?

As the recent Health Care Rasmussen Polls show the approval ratings for the Democrats Health Care legislation drops to the 40s and indicate they will drop even further, where is the logic? What part of “We don’t like your legislation, Congress?” that they don’t understand?

As I watch the projected numbers from the Congressional Budget Office, and other reliable sources, to the individual and household cost rise, I wonder. Just where do the air heads in Congress expect the average American to find these funds in their already stretched budgets? Do the dreamers in Congress actually believe that an average household of legal American, earning the average wage can afford an additional, say conservative amount of $7500 per year? That’s the CBO low ball cost. That amounts to at least $542 dollars per month. It amounts to more than the rent that many average people pay in America, unless you are in a major urban area with a higher cost of living. Gee, someone forgot the rest of America and focused on the “urban population” in their cost estimates.

Do you wonder on the dissatisfaction? In 2010, several governor races will set the tone for 2012. I think, in honesty Congress and Obama will be unhappily surprised. We can only hope!
