Devotion - The Forgotten War - Veteran's Day
We honor the "Greatest Generation" who fought World War II, yet ignore those who fought in Korea. Many of the same military men and women who fought WWII, went on to serve in the Korean warm the "Forgotten War".
Today, many Americans only know of the Korean War, by watching the TV show "Mash".
Adam Makos, in his new book, "Devotion" brings that war into life in vibrant technicolor. He also doesn't pull punches on the racial divide on both sides of the civil rights simmering battles of the pre and post WWII years.
What is clear, and Adam Makos is excellent in portraying, is that in times of great need in American history, extraordinary men and women step up and go forward into the breech.
On this day, the 240th Birthday of the United States Marine Corp, we dedicate this show to those heroes and to the Marines. Semper Fidelis!
