Time is running out! Everyday over 1000 World War II Veterans die and many have never been thanked for their service or told their stories. They came home and quietly slipped into their private lives, raising their families, building a revitalized nation and burying the memories of the war.
Over 60 years later, finally a World War II Memorial was dedicated in Washington, DC and now many of those very Veterans were either too old and feeble to travel alone to visit it and remember their comrades. Finally, their was a place in America that said Thank You and they could not enjoy the moment, without help.
Then Honor Flight was born in 2005 by a Physician's Assistant, Earl Morse. Elsewhere, a Dry Cleaner Owner, Jeffrey Miller had a similar idea and soon they merged into a movement that has spread across the nation. From these two men to thousands of volunteers, over 100,000 Veterans have been flown to Washington, DC to visit their memorials.
