SC State Soveriegnty Reaffirmed & Right To Bear Arms

Long in contention is the creeping abdication of individual and states rights to federal authority.  Bit by bit, law makers under the guise of social legislation  have trampled on the Constitution of the United States.  Nowhere it that theft more evident as in both the Senate's and House's versions of the proposed health care bills, in blatant violation of the 9th and 10th Amendments.   Additionally, Health and Human Services have declared firearms a "health hazard" as well as a House Bill, HR 45, which seeks to deny your 2nd Amendment right to bear arms.
Across the nation, 13 states have taken steps to reaffirm the 10th Amendment.  Proudly, South Carolina is one step closer.  The State Senate passed SB 424, which originally only reaffirmed the 9th and 10th Amendments, specifically declaring us free of federally mandated health care.  In a last minute amendment to the bill, Senator Brad Hutto added amendment #47, which references the 2nd Amendment, Right To Bear Arms.  However, Senator Larry Grooms stated that he fears the wording may be too broad and fails to adequately protect the private citizen.  Senator Grooms is currently consulting the attorneys at the National Rifle Association.  The NRA may suggest better wording.

For now, the bill heads over to the House.  If the House accepts it as is, it will pass and become law.  Should they seek changes it will go to a joint session for negotiations.  Below is a Press Release issued today:

GREENVILLE/SPARTANBURG — Christina Jeffrey, Republican candidate for Congress in South Carolina’s 4th Congressional District (Greenville/Spartanburg)  “Today I join with SCGOP Chairman Karen Floyd in congratulating the SC Senate for passing yesterday’s Anti-CongressCare (aka ObamaCare) Resolution. In asserting the rights of Palmetto State residents to choose their own health care and reaffirming the 2nd, 9th, 10th, and 14th Amendments to the U.S. Constitution, the Legislature sends an important message, not just to the Congress, but to people and companies nationwide searching for a place that’s open for business.
“People still have the ability to vote with their feet and those who want to work are looking for states with good and efficient governments and low overhead. Yesterday the S.C. Senate took the first step in reaffirming states rights.  Now let us take the next step and repeal the corporate income tax.  This will, as Governor Sanford has repeatedly rejoined, begin the process of improving the soil conditions that attract established businesses as well as enable South Carolina business entrepreneurs to grow new jobs.”

  1. That is AWESOME! Hats off to South Carolina! The issue of state sovereignty, and tenth amendment rights, have been put on the back burner for WAY TOO LONG. Yesterday, Gov. Christie was sworn in; I would be curious to know where he stands on The 10th Amendment.

  2. Are You Ready for the Coming Obama Retirement Trap?

I fear future Washington revenue needs and the growing treasury debt load may ultimately require government mandates directing retirement plans to purchase government bonds. In addition, Washington will likely force trillions of private plan benefits into new proposed “universal” government Guaranteed Retirement Annuities managed by the Social Security System.

This threat of stealth nationalization and confiscation and how it could happen is outlined in the 20 page special report, “Are You Ready for the Coming Obama Retirement Trap?”
